good for students. loud on weekends because of the students getting drunk and partying. don't play your music too loud because of the thin walls and people will bang on the wall despite the fact that the students scream on the weekends and no one ever tells them to be quiet. other than that nice place to live and worth the money since you get a lot including parking, cable, internet, gym, coffee shop, good restaurants in the area. good intro to berkeley and bay.
I lived here for one year in the 2 bedroom, 2 bath model with four roomies. All in all it was a good experience. Pluses: The apartment and the furniture were nice, and I really enjoyed the gym, coffee shop and secured parking lot. Locationwise, I actually enjoyed that we were NOT near campus and got to discover a new part of town - plus, the 51B runs almost every ten minutes to campus, Individual contracts allow you to switch who you are living with if you are not a good match for each other. I made friends with other tenants during events, so you get the social perks of dorm life without some of the unnecessary rules. Downsides: Very thin walls, so get earplugs if you are a light sleeper like me. The RA's weren't always as responsive as we would have liked to situations like people being loud after hours, etc - it really depended on which RA was on duty. The rent is steep, but you really do get what you pay for. Also, one friend who lived there had a very difficult time negotiating terms of her contract with the renters - again, it depends on who you get to talk to when you walk into the office. There are an array of characters running the place, which you learn to navigate as a tenant. Overall, this was an ideal situation for my senior year, as I didn't know if I was going to leave Berkeley after graduation and didn't want to purchase furniture for just one year, but also didn't want to reenter the dorms with awkward freshman everywhere and no privacy/kitchen. My roomies and I had a good time, and had I not gotten a job back home I probably would have stayed another year.
I'm one of the first person to live here and it's been great. This place has everything I need.... Gym, coffee house and roof top deck. I really like the fact everything is included in the rent. If I have any issues the people in the office are always friendly and helpful.
Campanile Court has everything you need in one place. All the units are new with cable, internet, and all utilities included. Plus they have a great gym that is downstairs and open 24-hours a day.
