This a lovely place to live however the parking it's horrible I live in one bedroom apartment on northwest my wife and I we have two vehicles and their policy it's only the 2 bedroom get to have two parking spots l... Since we moved in the the parking spot next to the one we were assigned its being empty vacated for months and we certainly could be using that spot other residents perhaps another things how is it that guesses get parking and not residents i mean if I was a guess I would not mind parking across the street and pay 6 dollar for one day parking after all it's only one day visiting or two but when you are resident parking across the street can go over 130 a months I believe the guess parking should be assigned for residents after all we are the ones paying rent... Another things there patrol people sometimes are rude I'm walking to the pool and I'm the one who has to stop not them I'm driving to my parking lot I'm the one who has to stop not them. Last time a forgot it was over 10 pm my surround sound was a little loud and my balcony window was open the patrol came into my door knocked so hard the i thought something had happened outside when I open the door they told me you have to turn it off now ... Firstly they could have told me to lower or at lease be nice... Overall the place it's beautiful if they could fix the parking and the rude patrol system I will give them 5 stars This and update I discover after living here for 5 months I'm so upset that I'm taking the time to explains more The units don't have air conditioner because they were builded around 1960 When we took the tour they told us you know need one because its next to the water And it get fresh, hell no for the summer it's get so fricking hot it's actually hotter inside the apt than outside so I got my self the best portable ac not even than it was still hot And my electric bill cam 270 bucks because the ac Also the whole building its made out of wood and the unite have not water sprinklers in case of a fire we are toast Yes not dogs allow cats $ 300 deposit indoor cats only Also they use a company called balair Internet for the Internet units which it's about 60 bucks a month for 8mbps download spead which most of the time it's only 3 Mbps They use the same company for directv you can only have directv if you live here and they tell you they have to use balair Internet for the installion which you to pay for it also you can't use all the features of directtv such as live streaming which I loved at my previous location now I can't stream anymore also the Internet it's too slow for it So here I'm 5 days without Internet and mariner village don't even have the courtesy to even call me and explain after I left 3 voice messages and walked in their office and told them myself so 5 days without Internet and I'm still paying for it I yes I almost forgot they tell you because of the location next to the marina they use one big satellite to power all the units IT'S A LIE just got to the tower and look at the rooftop and you see the directv satillites. There is not luxury in here just a beautiful marina if you are looking for luxury just got to the archstones instead of this overprice old unites building
We've been here for two weeks and so far so good! Management has been great, esp Danny! Maintenance has been awesomely fast, Suzy couldn't be any better! The people, everyone from residents to staff, are amazing. The 'tropical' theme is unique, so much more character than any of the surrounding apartment complexes. Hot Hula on Wednesday nights in the clubhouse is a super fun workout and the perfect surroundings for a hula class. You've gotta see it to appreciate it. Would I move here again? Yes, yes, and yes ... so far anyway! The only suggestion I'd have is put a lock on the pool gates to deter nonresidents.
I rented a 1 bedroom apartment 2 years ago and have had no problems so far. I love the location and the ambiance. I have my personal parking space but visitor parking can be a nightmare. Neighbors keep to themselves and hardly talk to others. I haven't dealt with residential services much but the security staff here is very courteous and helpful. I once got locked out of my apartment on a Sunday night. They called up a lock smith for me and let me sit with them until the lock smith arrived as it was cold outside. I would recommend this place for anyone who commutes to work on the west side and likes a calm place to relax at home.
The leasing office has been unorganized since the first day that I moved in. I have lived here for over a years, it is a great location, but speaking from my experience of living here, do not sign a lease here. From smoke blowing into my bedroom window from other tenants, to a very poorly managed leasing office, this is not the place you want to invest living in.
At the moment I am renting an apartment at Mariners Village. No problem so far with any maintenance issues and such. Thank god I have an own parking spot, parking is bad in case you don't have your own. Nothing special in L.A. I guess. What really annoys me is Residential Services, especially the blond manager! She completely ignores people who come in and has a serious attitude problem! If I wouldn't know better I'd think she is the major. She behaves like she owns the apartment complex, neighborhood or even the city. I came by to get a receipt, and since her coworkers had a lunch break she 'helped me'. She didn't want to get me the receipt and had to come back 3 times ('pending') until I was dealing with someone who wanted to spend 2 minutes printing out a receipt. He even sighed and was giving me trouble. Are they not used to work for the money or what is going on? I have heard more serious complaints about Residential Services from other people at Mariners Village, specifically about the female manager. So far the complaining; the rest is great here. Thank god I don't have to deal with those people to often. Honestly I think that many of the critiques/reviews given are not true. I guess a lot of people in Marina Del Rey are rotten spoiled, hahaha. If it weren't for the not sociable behavior I would love to stay longer in MdRey, but sadly most of the people live in their own private world. Excellent weather, beaches and entertainment opportunities here though!
