One of the best places to get my meds a little price but very good.
Terrible customer service. Twice, their compounding lab has screwed up my cat's prescription, resulting in a fearful, sick cat, and a torn up human.
I've been dealing with Westbury for over 25 years. You will not find a better, more personable, pharmacy. They stay well staffed, so wait times are minimal even on walk-ins when it's busy. They also have a compound lab which most pharmacies don't, and generally have a bigger stock then most pharmacies. Plus it's hard to beat their free delivery service. There's not a chain pharmacy that can touch their customer service.
Kroger recommended Westbury because they have a bigger stock of medications and would probably be able to fill mine faster. (I really liked how Kroger was worried about the speed in which I receive my medication). A couple of minutes later, I drop off my prescription paper and they tell me they will get it in at 7pm as they didn't have it in stock. 7pm rolls around and they tell me that this medication requires a prior authorization from my insurance. That is ok by me, it is not their fault. So, two weeks rolls around and I call them and they tell me that the doctor's office is the hold up. I call the doctor's office right away and they tell me they already had the prior auth on file and they faxed it to Westbury the same day they requested it, two weeks ago. So I call Westbury again and they say that it will be ready in an hour. I call them one more time to make sure the next day that it is ready and they say it is. I go in, and low and behold! it is not ready, in fact, the girl behind the desk says they need a prior auth. I tell her that it has been done twice before, so she gets a pharmacist and they find out they have been trying the wrong dosage. They try the right dosage and find out they cannot even get the medicine for two months. My pain does not end there. I go to Kroger without my prescription to see how long it would take them. 3 days later, Kroger has my medication, so I go to Westbury to pick up the prescription slip. THEY LOST IT! They told me that the owner would call me, and I haven't received a call. I am now 3 weeks without a medication I need as part of my daily life. It is affecting my job, and my life in general. Yet, every time I contact Westbury, something worse happens.
Words cannot completely express how horrible this place is... Alas, I will try anyway. It boggles the mind how this place is still in business. After my first ridiculously bad experience, I thought maybe I caught them on a bad day. Unfortunately, it was only the beginning. [Disclaimer] We were forced to use this pharmacy because it is it the closest compounding pharmacy to us and we needed compounded meds for our 2 month old. The second time was just as bad, and third time was worse. The customer service was horrible and the communication between employees is non-existent. Unfortunately, you can't just talk to one person, or two, or three... It is hard to trust the prescription when dealing with this place. At this point, I would drive to Williamsburg rather than go back.
