All’s Fair[wood] In Love and War The following is a review of the apartment I lived in. In January 2014, I moved into the Fairwood Landing Apartments. Quite a change for me as this is the first time I have lived on my own without a roommate of any kind (e.g. sibling, partner) Looking back, I’m relieved it was that I experienced personal growth. I understand this is supposed to be a review of the apartments, which I will eventually get to, but this is also where it happened. The apartment itself was not magical in terms of décor or layout. Again, it was mine therefore it was magical. Located at the top of the hills of 140th St SE, and SE Petrovisky Road, that was the center of the Fairwood area of Renton. You could easily drive to access of Maple Valley Highway, and I-405, as well as backroads to Kent, and Southcenter. So in terms of accessibility, again I loved it. It was refreshing to arrive and leave as I choose without accounting to anyone but myself. Especially with my choice of roads to use (see what I did there?) When I did arrive to my ‘home’, I loved the style of my decorating. It wasn’t much, but it was mine. I chose a ground floor apartment to make my life easier in terms of moving in and out, and knowing what I do about physics and heat. You see, apartment E104, was mostly buried in the Earth, and faced a green belt so it was consistently a cool temperature. Like a safe haven in the mountains, or the Batcave! It was a feature and benefit during the 2014 and 2015 Seattle heatwave. While all my friends and family were melting, I was fine and dandy and sweet as candy. The staff at Fairwood, in my experience, was friendly and accommodating. The community of residents were quiet and kept to themselves. A handful would engage in casual conversation with me on occasion. In the end, I would highly recommend living here at Fairwood Landing Apartments. I would definitely endorse apartment E104, especially since they renovated it after my departure. I dubbed it Club Los, but call it your home once you move in. PS - Heather, the manager, rocks!! Jordan is bomb, too. Sami, is a dear, and sweet.
This is the worse place I have ever lived in my life, it's all government housing, I swear I am the only one in this place that has a job and not on section 8. the people below me fight from 2:00am until I go to work then yell at me when I pound on the floor. The are always threatening to kill eachother none of the kids are supervised. I had a 2yr old little girl knock on my door and come in looking for her mother, it sicks that people actually live like this. I called the police 3 time last summer becasue of the neighbors violent fights out side and one pulled a gun this place should be torn down. DON'T LIVE HERE!!!!!
Fairwood landing is a great to live...
Moved here a year ago and has worked okay i guess. Great rates for such a great location. Easy access to 405 and maple valley highway. Complex itself is great for recent graduates, definitely a great place to live when you're just starting out and can't afford to be too picky. All in all you get what you pay for.
