The prices are good and the maintenance is fast, and the apartment is decent for the price. All the bad lies completely with the management. I have lived here 8 months and Melissa (mgr) and Megan (office) were totally incompetent from the beginning. They tried to charge me an extra month before I even moved in. I reached out to their boss who straightened out their mess, so I was willing to go ahead and move in. Finally about 4mo ago Melissa was replaced by Alexandria. I'm not quite sure how Alexandria is the manager of anything, and would think twice about giving her a job mopping floors. The first time I "met" her, her son was jumping around the office like it was Chuck E Cheese, drinking and spilling the lemonade set out for new tenants. I only found out that this was her unruly child because he was screaming Mommy! Mommy! I would suggest she get a sitter, or at least sit him down with something to do. As I waited 15min to be helped, I listened to Alexandria talk so rudely and demeaning to a tenant, that the tenant left in tears. When she was finally free, I asked her to help me, she rudely said "One of them will" and went back to what she was doing (still while her son ran around jumping on everything). I waited another 10 min for Megan to tell me they could do nothing to help and I would have to come back tomorrow. I recently again wasted time out of my life I can't get back, talking to Alexandria. She clearly has a miserable life and needs to spread it around. She was rude, snide, and tried to be intimidating and condescending, but came off like a bratty little girl with a chip on her shoulder..with Megan as her goofy sidekick. Clearly whoever is hiring these people forgot that this is a business and must not think much of the tenants that keep them in business. I can see why they have issues filling the vacancies when you have grade school drop outs running the place. I planned on staying another year, but I will be out of here ASAP.
Watch out for this place! It will lure you in with good prices on apartments and a nice location close to a lot of businesses but you will soon find out that you didn’t choose wisely. In addition they will do their best to screw you over when you do try to leave. (Example being charged for cleaning and other issues when the apartment was left in perfect condition and was even cleaner than when I moved in!) ↑ “I have photos on my google+ page showing the condition that the apartment was left in and you can judge for yourself if $135 in fees for cleaning and supposed stains should be assessed in this situation.” My experience started out okay but quickly turned for the worse when I found out that my neighbor (One of the apartment’s maintenance staff) was an abuser of women. I would hear him and his girlfriend fighting 2-3 times a week loud enough to be heard from 50+ feet outside of the apartment. On a couple occasions I heard him clearly beating her against the wall and front door to the point where I had to contact the police. Another fun fact was that the people that moved next door to him were heroin addicts and were eventually evicted around 3 months after moving in. That does not account for the used needles that I found on multiple occasions near that apartment and the constant partying and other drug use that went on for those 3 months. Your best bet is to stay as far away from this place as you can. It is not worth your safety to put up with people like this and to have the office treat you like crap even if you do everything right. The only good thing I have to say about the apartment complex is that Miranda at the front office was about the only helpful person up there. Everyone else including the new office manager "Alexandria" were extremely unhelpful and they seemed to go out of their way to NOT help you with issues! You have been warned and I wish you the best in looking for another "safer" place to live. P.S. The apartment complex has changed management 3 times in the 2 years that I was a resident. (Also they are now allowing Section 8 individuals to move in without ever informing current residents of this…)
If you could only give 0 stars or negative stars that's serve it better. I came here over the summer and looked for short term leases and Tuscan Pointe was the only one I could find that offered what i needed. I ended up transitioning into the month-by-month rent but if I had known I would be here as long as I have I would've elected to stay at a holiday inn over this place. First off, apartments are bare bones and pretty dirty when you first move in. Your "move-in inspection' is a JOKE. There were things on there that I requested to be fixed immediately and I'm not about to move out months later and those items are still not fixed. I will give them a PLUS though, the maintenance is pretty prompt and efficient. The compliments on staff will end there though. "Bookkeeping" errors about every other month, incorrect late fees here and random charges there all of which never make sense and when you question them they get defensive but then realize they're wrong. Overall staff attitudes (with exceptions of a select few) are flat out rude (and that's saying it nicely). All-in-all avoid this place if you possibly can! The only pro to living here is it's proximity to 31 and the ease of getting down town Indy.
I have lived here for going on four years now. The first year wasn't so bad until I had a maintenance man come in and take half of my prescription. Needless to say he is gone. Then in November of last year there was an townhome fire two doors down from me,causing my family to have to move. Well we waited for 2 months for them to give us a new townhome only to move into a hell hole where things were not completed . Ontop of it ,the painter who had to come in to finish painting my kitchen cabinets has stolen my mickey mouse baby fork... I mean come on !! Who does that!?! And when I call to speak to Melissa the so called manager she wants to get an attitude with me. Sweetheart I'm not the one who moved me into this pos townhome nor did i hire the Idiots u call maintenance men . Best believe this will b my last year living here and I doubt I'll b making it til the end of my lease !!! DO NOT LIVE HERE !!!!!!!!!!
I lived here for two years, and it hasn't been "too bad". BUT! Management seems to think they can bully the tenants and threats of credit postings. Before moving you are post to give them a 30 days notice and if your ending your lease early you can opt in for a "buyout" option. I had every intent in doing things right, but we ran into problems with our new home (they needed to do some repairs and we didn't get the keys till the end of the month). Which overlapped our move by five days (including the weekend). I did not want to put in a notice of intent till we had keys in hands on our new home (just incase something went wrong). With keys in hand I called management to have them draw up the "buyout" and we would be in later today to sign and give them the money orders I have sitting here to do the buyout. They tell me that they can not (or will not) pro-rate for the next month and I would have to pay the FULL amount for next months rent. Our lease is up in three months, so basically we would be paying the ENTIRE next three months for someone else to live in our ex-apartment... plus I don't/didn't expect to see our deposit. They (Tuscan) would be taking 2k of our money, and making another 2k too new renters. It would only take 1 week to clean and pain as necessary then another too get someone else in to start renting. Whats the point of buyout? They threatened me by saying it will go on my credit. Okay this is isn't luxury apartments, and most peoples credit that moves in here are already shot... mine is. I have plans on filing bankruptcy in December, and I am on SSD (they can't touch that). They are not hurting me in no shape or form, but they will be the ones loosing out as now I will not only NOT pay them the extortion money but I will also not giving them notice at all that I am moving and keep the keys so they can not rent the damn place out. I tried to be fair, but I will not pay extortion money to them. I had the money here to pay the buyout, but for them too try and extort more money out of me for the month of September, it will cost them for that bad move. They could of pro-rated, made a bit of money and rented the place out after I gave them the keys.... bad business for them.
