We moved here at the end of Aug. The reviews scared us a little but we didn't have a chance to check apartments in this area since we were moving from Colorado on short notice. We have had nothing but positive experiences with the staff since moving. The office staff is always friendly and gets maintenence working on our problems quickly. Maintenence personnel do their jobs well and quickly. The complex is kept clean and they stay in front of the snow.
I have been living here for several months now and have only positive things to say. The pool was clean all summer and the pool furniture is well maintained. The work out room has great bikes and free weights with a full length mirror. I called in a maintenance work order and they came quickly and handled the minor problem. I love the location and bill paying is easy online. I would recommend these apartments to anyone!
The worst place I have ever lived in my entire life!! I warned all my Ogden Utah friends agains it!!! The place had issues when we moved in that somehow ended up being charges at the end to Us! Definitely not a humane place since it's all about them as a corporate company and not a family friendly place!! Still have debts with them thanks to the charges I had!! So piece of advice if you do move in : write up a letter letting them know what they need to go in an fix before you move in and while you are there! Check all of your appliances!! It has beautiful views that trick you into loving it at a glance. Management was awesome when it came to showing the apartment but once you are sucked in it is a nightmare filled with "I can't ". So don't do it especially if you need short term, you can't break a lease even if your mother is dying in another state, you still have to pay the lease termination of about 1500-2000.
Maintenance takes a very, very long time to react to anything. The office manager often tells you one thing and does another. The only thing this place has going for them is the location. The office staff takes up all the tenant parking, so a paying tenant has to park far away because all of the office workers have taken all the close tenant parking spots. We had a wasps nest in our bedroom for two weeks before they came to fix it. We had to sleep in our living room. We also got stung. In our 2 year stay our dishwasher broke, our apartment flooded 3 times which took weeks to fix, we had a wasps nest in our bedroom, we had mice, 2 buildings burned down, our toilet broke, we had mold growing in our windows, and our water heater broke. Not once did we receive any kind of compensation. We have been great tenants and never had a late rent payment. Needless to say we gave our notice. Please, for your own sake, run far far away from these apartments.
My family & I lived ay The Gate for 7 months, it was a living nightmare. The maintenance was a joke, my fridge stopped working 4 times, they finally replaced it after the 4th time & the "new" fridge went out within a month of having it. They banged up the walls bringing it into my apartment as well. The plumbing in our bathroom was not very wonderful either, toilet backed up multiple times. They also came to replace a screen that was missing since before we had moved in. When they came to replace the screen they measure the window, came back with a screen & it was too large, so they hammered into the window, I'm not an expert, but I've never seen someone hammer a screen into a window. The main office lady at the time was very rude as well, argumentative, & NOT in any way helpful. Great location, horrible managment.
