This place is one of the worst places I've ever lived in. Not only have you drug addicts living on the property next to the community. You also have drug addicts (I know of at least one) living IN the community. Sometimes at night you see strange people checking for unlocked cars at the parking lot - brrrrrrr... The neighbors in general are somehow strange: Sometimes they just started screaming around (I think the considered it "talking to each other") in a very vulgar way even after 10pm. But that's not it: Sometimes the landlord (or his/her representative) enters your apartment while you are away WITHOUT asking you for permission in advance. I mean, they have my cell phone number so even in case of an emergency they could just ask what's going on. You just find a not in your living room: "Hey, we just entered your apartment because we heard something while we were in the apartment next door and thought it might be worth checking." Isn't that called trespassing and illegal?!? Renting here was another desaster since Frank (the guy who works or maybe worked there - haven't seen him in quite some time) was one of the most unpolite and incompetent persons I've ever met - and I've met some... believe me! Moving out is a pain as well. After living with Heatherwood for 2 years straight, all I asked was to shorten my lease by one month because my work contract was not renewed and I left the State. I was offered to a) pay the month and get back my security deposit (one month's rent) or save that month's rent but lose my security deposit (one month's rent). So, to make a long story short: I totally do not recommend the Heatherwood Communities at Lake Ronkonkoma, nor any other of the Heatherwood Communities on Long Island. It sounds good in the beginning, but once you moved in, the frustration starts.
Thank you for all your hard work.
