I lived at the heritage for over 2 years. Units are great, office staff is great, amenities are great, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the maintenance staff. They are so quick to respond to service requests (usually same day), which, after living in places where it took weeks to get things fixed, I can greatly appreciate. I love the neighborhood of Cortez Hill and the personalities that are attracted to living here (you'd be hard-pressed to find dog-less neighbors:)). Overall a great place to live in downtown SD.
The Heritage is one of the best places to live in San Diego. It's in a great location. Close to the Gaslamp, The Heritage staff members are friendly, helpful and they have your back when you need help with things like packages, lost items and forgotten keys. I have lived her for five years and I am enjoying my stay. Most of all I like the gym that's equipped with flat screen televisions to watch while you cycle and walk on the treadmills. Oh and the parties. The seasonal parties with great food, prize-winning raffles-- I don't know of too many apartments that have these. I highly recommend The Heritage for those folks who want to be a part of a residential community that gives back to its tenants.
This place is horrible!!!! Worst place I have ever lived!!! STAY AWAY! IF I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD.....DON'T KNOW WHO YOU ARE KATE G. BUT GOOD LUCK.....Office staff and management are liars and do not own up to their promises. Building is falling apart and has had trips hazards everywhere for months. Scaffolding was and probably still is up with no construction workers to be found. The floors in the common areas are cracked and have holes, I had helped two people up that had fallen and when I notified the office manager, she acted as if she could care less and just stated "they were working on it". After two emails they finally put tape over some of the areas and a large orange cone. WOW! So much for the safety of the residents and their guests. The gate to the underground parking is either stuck where you cannot get in or out or is stuck open where homeless people and thieves can get into the garage and steal things out of your vehicles. A friend in the sister building had someone break in to his apartment and his vehicle while living there. I was almost attacked in my home while moving (because gate was open for two days letting god knows who in-not sure could have been a resident) and NOTHING was done about it and no apologies were made even though the office was made aware. There is always at least one elevator that is not working. When I moved out (just my luck) one of the elevators were out and I had to pay movers twice as much to walk to the other side of the community to use the only elevator that worked while getting yelled at by residents for stopping the only elevator in use. Again I notified the management and the property management company and no compensation was offered and no apologies were made.Because community is so old and the equipment is unkept, the Power bills are insane. I had a one bedroom and had several power bills over $175 a month (even though when we toured the community we were assured most bills are around $50 a month).NOTHING IS AS IT APPEARS AT THIS PLACE!!!! DO NOT BE FOOLED LIKE WE WERE!!!
My husband and I have lived here for almost three years, and we have said before that we wished we could buy one of the apartments. The only reason we are leaving is because we bought a house. The neighborhood is perfect... very residential yet close to everything! We walk to work, to Gaslamp, and now that we have a baby, we walk her to her daycare too. We have lived in both the one bedroom and two bedroom split level townhomes, and they are comfy and modern, with more of a homey feel than a bare bones cold loft feel that a lot of places downtown have. The staff is amaing... I have had really bad experiences with leasing staff before but everyone here is so friendly and helpful. Chelsea and Kevin especially will bend over backwards to help you out whenever you need them. Its pretty quiet too, you will obviously hear some noise just as you would in any apartment, but our baby sleeps downstairs, right next to the elevator, and rarely gets woken up by any noise, even on friday and saturday nights. Dog park a couple blocks away, great hottub on the non-pool side, and just overall an incredibly great place to live. Not going to lie... I'm pretty upset we are moving out!!!
