This review is long overdue. We are going on our fourth year at Camden Brookwood (CB) and we feel very fortunate to have found this complex. The neighborhood is wonderful! It's quiet, green, dog-friendly, safer than many neighborhoods in ATL, close to the Beltline, and within walking distance to several solid restaurants. The maintenance guys are great. As far as the front office staff, I am continually impressed by their interest in making CB better. I can't say everything is perfect, but the issues CB has are the same issues that plague any large apartment complex. There are always going to be a handful of rude neighbors that refuse to pick up after their dogs - even when trash bags and receptacles are easily accessible. There will always be a few inconsiderate residents that play loud music or illegally park in handicap spaces. What I appreciate about CB - and what I feel distinguishes it - is the fact that I really feel heard and taken seriously by the staff when inevitable problems present themselves.
Didn't know what I had- the camden property i moved to from here was nowhere near as nice. The leasing office handled the mail well, any maintenance issues were addressed quickly, and moveout was a cinch. John in the leasing office was super nice
I have been a resident for a little over 5 months now, so I feel like I have a good gauge of what living in this complex is like. They units are very nice and clean and the amenities I'd rate as slightly above standard. I like the fact that you can park your car in the garage and don't need to pay for a spot. The staff is very friendly and willing to help you if you have a problem, or at least point you in the right direction. Safety is beginning to be a concern of mine. On one occasion, a friend of mine called me when she said a guy followed her in, parked near her and was following her as she walked to my unit. When me and a friend came out to get her, the guy turned around and ran the other way. On another occasion, my friend was asked buy a guy outside a gate if she could let him in. She ignored him and kept walking, but she says she heard him buzz in and open the door anyway. Luckily she got on the elevator before he could get in. I have talked to two fellow residents who said that their cars were broken into. I am not sure if it is by people who live in the complex or outsiders. But there have been times where I have seen gate doors open, or propped open with rocks at night. On 3 occasions, packages that have been marked delivered at my door are not there. Now, this could be an issue with UPS or FedEx, but there are multiple residents who have had incidents of stolen packages. Also, I had an incident where my dehumidifier (locked away in a room you cannot monitor or control) was set at the wrong level before I moved in, resulting in my Power Bill being really high. When GA Power came to do an audit, they found out that my error resulted in a 95% increase in my energy usage. To their credit, Camden fixed the problem immediately and took down my next rent payment a bit, but I was still stuck paying an outrageous power bill. I felt like I should have been reimbursed the proper amount for what their error costed me, but I wasn't. In fact, I wasn't even given an explanation. And when I called and left messages to corporate, I didn't get any responses back. I think this is a reflection of a corporate policy issue. I think management truly wants you to be happy and to enjoy your living experience, but I don't think they are willing to go above and beyond to provide to make sure that happens. They don't look at your problems like their problems. They just want to keep things moving so they can keep getting those rent checks. P.S. if you live on one of the top floors, be ready to have a serious Lady Bug issue.
Maintenance is great!!! Front Office is friendly!!!! If you get the chance to rent here do it is a great location for shopping walking and sightseeing
Fire alarm has been going off since 3am. It's now 6am. I have called several times and they repeatedly tell me someone is on sight trying to fix it. Worst property management ever. Do not recommend.
