Don't let the beautiful landscape and view of the lake fool you, I have not even signed a lease here yet and am already dissatisfied with the management. I toured here with a friend a few days ago, we are looking for a 3 bedroom apartment. Our other roommate was at work. My friend who was with me filled out an application, paid the $50 fee, and was told it will be submitted for screening and we will hear from them Monday. Not only did they not submit it, we are JUST NOW being told it won't be submitted until all three of us submitted an application. Something which we would have waited to fill out an app had we been told. We read the reviews and asked about the fighting in the parking lots. They said "we have only been here a year and that has changed". Which isn't the most reassuring thing to hear from someone who just screwed an applicant out of $50. We won't be pursuing a lease here.
I have no idea why there are so many bad reviews about this complex. We just moved in last month. All of our maintenance requests are handled seriously. Maintenance staff is very nice. Office staff is also nice and helpful. Our new appliances are GREAT. The apartment layout is roomy, feeling more like a small house than an apartment. I can barely hear my neighbors above or below me, only when they are being very loud. Overall, my roommate and I are very happy with the place. Aspen has been working FAST to get landscaping done. We have seen a lot of progress in only a few weeks. I would recommend living here. PS: The trail around the lake is beautiful.
I recommend not to move here. They have lake and community, which is nice and all, but the management is awful. Recently, our community was asked to remove satelites for the landscaping. We called our cable providers and asked them if they can move the satelite dish on the porch. They said the fine was $40. We asked the office to pay it for us (they were the reason why we were dealing with this...) and they said "no." Few days later, they removed the satelite dishes without telling us. Neighbors said we can sue them for doing that. For a week, my family was not able to watch TV, we had to watch Youtube instead. The rent for 3 bedroom is 1200-1300. The Lake House has mold. It's descusting. Living in there would make you sick. The apartments have thinwalls, meaning complaints about noises are nothing new around here. The playground is broken and 'ghetto-looking' for about a year now. Some of the maintainence is very rude and they just don't care about the problem. Even the neighbors are rude. When damage is done to the neighborhood, the office does not even do anything about it. Luckily we moved just in time before it gets any worst.
I see a lot of bad reviews here, and wanted to post a review of my own. I have lived in this apartment complex twice now, once under Avistele, and now under The Lake House. Personally I did not much care for Avistele, as a lot of the comments have suggested they allowed a lot of things, which some people would see as caring for their residents. Others (like me), would say they just didn't care. Rent was cheaper, but at the same time, getting maintenance to come fix things was an abysmal process. The landscaping was none. The people in the office were nice, but I don't see much of a difference there. Under the Lake House, the rent has gone up but my apartment now has hardwood floors, granite tops, and I have brand new appliances throughout. When I have called for maintenance to come out, they have always responded within a day, and always fixed the problem. If for any reason the problem isn't fixed the first time, they have always come back and fixed it within 24 hours. The pool is beautiful and sits just off the lake, and all of the landscaping is starting to come together and looks amazing! Any problem I have in this complex has been with the residents, not with the staff. They have always treated me fairly, and I am happy to live here! A+ to them, and keep up the good work!
Lets start with the size. The 3 bedroom is tempts you with its claim of 1588 sq ft so you think "Wow thats a deal!" When you tour the unit you ask questions like, "Is there outside storage?" and "Wow, are you sure these are walk in closets?" We moved from a 1200 sq ft 2 bedroom to this and can barely fit anything in here. So disappointing. I would not recommend it if you are used to having real walk-in closets. We also have only been here a week and have had to deal with swarming ants all over the ktichen and a washer and dryer that sound like jackhammers trying to go through the floor. We call the front office and are told maintenance will be by, but no apologies for the awful experience...just a chipper, "OK, no problem we will send someone by. Have a FANTASTIC day." Well, it might have a chance at being fantastic if I didnt have to fight off thousands of ants and worry about my washer and dryer falling through the floor. Finally, the insect maintenance man came by and looked at the pulled away floor boards (I had to do this to spray for the ants last night) and he informed me that the only way to really keep them from coming in the apartments is to treat OUTSIDE of the units, but the company only pays for inside treatment. Totally disappointing. When its time to take out your trash there is a disgusting dumpster near the mail center with parts of the old apartments they are "updating" with rolls of floor covering that look like wood and awful counters in the kitchen and bathrooms. Also be careful where you walk your dogs or your kids play because there is broken glass in the yards and walk ways. Unbelievable! Overall we thought this would be a good cost-effective move until we buy a house but the entire complex is awful. Im glad we were forced into a 10 month lease instead of a 12. Beyond disappointing experience here.
