We lived here for a little over a year, enjoying prompt service from both front office and maintenance staff. We appreciated the location of these apartments, near shopping and stores. We were refreshed by the view of the oak trees outside our particular apartment. We wish that the lease was a little less pricey, although Slate Creek's rent is probably comparable to other strategically located apartments.
The worst apartment I have ever lived in! The management lies and they pretty much fix all issues with duct tape. The walls are so thin that you hear people cough in the middle of the night. The only thing I liked about this wretched place is that I get to move soon! Do not move in here, they will take your soul. If you want to be happy when you get off work and get to come home, do not move here! They tell you they need 60 days notice to move out, even with a signed year lease date end and then notify you of that 60 days 30 days before the lease is up... make sense? No, they are trying to screw you because then you have to pay month to month which is an additional $400! HORRIBLE!!!! And the manager Nicole will never return a phone call so do not call her with any issues
My husband and I have lived here since September 2013. We live in a 2bd/2br unit on the third floor (with wonderful vaulted ceilings). Our move in consultant was Nora, who kept in close contact with me throughout the process of applying and submitting all of our paperwork. She continues to this day to be accountable and reliable, not just someone who secures a new resident and then moves on. We did have a "punch list" when we moved in, but it was mostly little things like loose outlet covers and a wiggly toilet handle. We turned in our punch list on a Sunday, and THAT DAY Tony came and addressed every single thing on the list. We have had other minor maintenance requests (kitchen light bulbs, fan switch) and someone came to resolve the issue the same day. Only once did we have to wait until the next day, and that was when I called at the end of the day on a Sunday, but then Tony came at 9am on Monday. Having lived in the bay area for a year (and paying $1900+ for 748 sq ft) we LOVE the amount of space we have in our apartment and have found the rent to be extraordinarily reasonable. We also live on the third floor with a view of trees and preserve (not parking lot) and I'm quite sure that also factors into the rent cost. Every SINGLE time I call the office or stop in to pay rent, the staff is professional and polite. Arlene, Nichole, Nora, Charlie, Diane and Tesha are so helpful and kind. The grounds are kept up quite well, and one of the things that we really love about this complex is that there are a lot of trees and it feels very park-like. We were very surprised to find out when we moved in just how large this complex is because I doesn't feel that way at all. Also, a big deal for us was the amount of available parking. No matter what time of night we get home, we can always find an open spot close by. I have read a lot of the reviews on Google about this complex and for the life of me, can't fathom why there are so many negative reviews. The only thing I can think of is that there are folks out there who sign a lease without reading it, don't follow the rules, don't pay rent on time, and when they are punished they turn to the internet to leave negative feedback. If you are thinking about being a resident in this fine complex, please know that there are hundreds of apartments here, and don't let fifteen complainers sway you. My advise is to pick a top floor unit with a nice view, and sit back and relax!
While I like my neighbors and am pretty happy with the location, their business practices are shady. They require a 60 day notice to vacate, but they only give you 30 days notice that they are raising your rent. So you either get stuck paying the increase for another lease period (shortest is 9 months), or you have to pay ungodly lease buy out fees ($2200+) or an additional $275 PER MONTH to do a month to month until you move out. Needless to say, once this lease is up, I'm out.
So far I love it here. I had a few issues when I first moved in, but management quickly took care of them. When I call about anything, they are quick to respond. I seldom hear any neighbors, and yes you can hear water running if someone is taking a shower in the apartment behind you, but really, that is part of apartment living. I was even given touch up paint for if I decided to move a picture so I could spackle and paint the spot. They have been great! I plan on being here a long time. And for the person who complained about the rent. Check out compatible apartments in the area, you will get sticker shock. This is a very large complex, and they keep the grounds very nice. But some people have to remember, a large complex like this you will have some disturbances. Again, part of apartment living.
