I lived here for 11 years. I guess that speaks for itself. Maintenance was great, punctual, effective. Not one rent increase in 11 years. They took great care of me. Very convenient for all types of shopping. I had a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom apartment for $639 per month for 11 years. For the price - I could not complain.
Horrible, Horrible, Horrible! This is the worst place I've ever lived! The staff is very unprofessional, the apartment is old and moldy and have bugs and even saw a mouse because there was a big hole underneath the bathroom sink that maintenance did not bother to fix. The apartment upstairs constantly leaked so there was water in the ceiling more than once. Now that I moved out, I am having a problem getting my deposit back. They are cheaters! And because they are not right here, Pickwick Farms will not ever prosper! It's sad.... Don't waste your money, time and most importantly, life!
I lived at Pickwick Farms for two summers during my internship. It was provided by the company I worked for so I don't really have any comments about the management because I didn't have to deal with them. This complex is great for people looking for short-term leases that are fully furnished (furniture, kitchen stuff, sheets, towels) but is dated and a little dirty. Don't expect too much, it wasn't that impressive. I never really felt safe here but never had any bad experiences. This complex is okay but just be careful and always lock your doors to both your apartment and car.
I had to find a "corporate" apartment for one month in Indianapolis and had to book at Pick Wick Farms without seeing it in person, as their website advertised it as a beautiful place, nice furniture and their pictures looked very nice and modern. NOT!!!! These pictures had to be from 15 years ago, because this place is a dump! I have lived in third world countries that were cleaner and nicer! In the first apartment they put me in, there were electrical wires dangling from the fan, a hole in the bathroom wall, the bedroom screen was ripped off, and the place was filthy!! Their definition of fully furnished was with 20 year old dirty furniture, 2 pots, mismatched dishes and silverware, a broom with half of its bristles....and so on. It also smelled moldy and awful, and you could barely open the refrigerator door in the kitchen (unlike the photos) Now I have lived in a lot of bad places and have been OK, but the point here is that they charged me a WHOPPING $990 + AN EXTRA $160 because I have a cat - FOR ONE MONTH!!!!!. The next day I complained and I was told that this was the best there was, but they moved me to another apartment. Apparently they were serious, because the second apartment was even worse - the couch fabric was falling off and little nails are exposed, none of the electrical sockets worked in the bathroom, the sockets in the bedroom worked off and on, lamps did not work, the carpet is beyond filthy, with spots and stains and wet dog smell, there are small nails in the kitchen cabinets that you have to watch or you will get scratched........they did have 4 cooking pots in this apartment unlike the other to their credit (ha)... DO NOT RENT A FURNISHED APT HERE!!!!! This is the worst place I have ever been and I will be reporting them to ISDH, Real Estate committee, BBB and Angie's list and anywhere else I can think of. Shame on Pickwick farms for their lack of attention to their people and apartments!!
I have lived in a ton of places around the Indianapolis area. For the price it's as good as you'll find around here. If you are wanting to pay more there are alot of places that are better, the same goes if you are comfortable moving a little out of the way. For me neither was an option but I'm still glad I choose pickwick farms. They have really improved over the last couple of years, and I don't mind bringing friends or family over here any more.
