Whatever you do, DO NOT sign a lease with this place. They will nickel and dime you for everything you have before you even sign a lease with them. If you run into Samantha Braun she will mislead you into putting money down while applying and you won't ever get it back if you decide to change your mind and back out of signing a lease. She took $600 from us because we got "approved' after we sent in our applications and upon applying we were forced to put down $600 to reserve the apartment. I asked her if we would get our money back if we decided that we didn't want to sign a lease with them and she said YES you would just get back the $300 deposit and $175 administration fee. Once we got approved, we were forced to pay another $300 upon signing the lease due to a low credit rating, brief employment history, and short rental history which she NEVER gave us the heads up about. We decided that this was pretty shady management that we were dealing with and we to back out of signing a lease with them. This was a prefect example of a bait switch tactic which is bad business practicing. I never even took two steps into the apartment that I was going to sign a lease and I suggest for anyone who reads this post to never take two steps forward into walking in their office.
First months, I had my items stolen from my the locker rooms. They didn't check the cameras nor bothered to give me a call. The other reviews are correct, in the winter it's so cold that we had to put plastic in our windows. They told us that we'd only have to pay for two bills, then put another one under our name without us even knowing. Found a cockroach in the vent below our bedroom bed. I've called to have my dryer fix countless time, but they always come a week later or have the so called maintenance guys install our dryer back incorrectly. Also had our bike stolen from our balcony. Don't let the pretty yards and castle-like buildings fool you.
We came for a tour last week we had looked at so many apartments in the area and could not find anything we liked. After taking one look at the indoor pool, sauna, and hot tub we were sold then we took a look at the beautiful apartment and fell in love we worked with Samantha Braun she did a great job was professional and friendly.
We lived in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath for 3 1/2 months waiting to get into our house. Pros: Location Location! Loved the underground heated garage (wish we could have had both cars in though but we could only get one), the "car wash stall" - was very cold water but was nice to rinse the car off - especially this last winter when the wheels were packed. Shopping carts on multiple levels to bring all the groceries/stuff in. Cons: COLD!!! There is no insulation in the walls and the windows leak like a sieve. My daughter's bed was 3 feet from the window in the kids room and it was so cold she took her sleeping bag and went and slept in front of the bathroom in the hallway (of their room). You have to put plastic on the windows - you will have no choice when it gets so cold. We put plastic on in November and it would billow out literally 8+ inches from the window from the leaking air. You pay ALL utilities here - heat, electric, gas, garbage AND water. It's ridiculous! If we could have found a place that heat was included and would have done a short term lease, we would have. We just didn't have that much time. Oh yeah... and if you think you are going to try and roll your lease to a month to month after you get in, don't be too shocked when they tell you how much the monthly rent would go up. We were quoted $500 a month. Yep, just about fell off my chair. We were thinking it would go up about $150 or possibly even $200 - but $500 more was insane. Furnace filter was probably never changed prior to us moving in. Also, there is no humidifier on the furnace so we boiled water every day, all day long to get enough humidity in the air so the furnace did not run every 2 minutes. Don't use a nice pan to boil water - Plymouth water has a ton of scale in it (or its the pipes in the building). Additional notes: we had no issues with the personnel in the office. They were very nice to deal with. Wasn't too happy about the huge rent increase for a month to month lease and I think they could have given us a heads up (they maintained that they couldn't tell us what it was until we were 60 days out as its a software program that tells them the price) but not sure that they had control over that. We paid the $100 fee at the end for them to clean the apartment. That way, it was cleaned to their standards to get the deposit back. Would I live here again? Probably not unless there was absolutely no where else to go.
I like it here. We have been here for over a year. The management team and the maintenance team are very responsive. Some of the people that I hear complaining are doing so because they are being asked to follow the rules, and they don't think that the rules should apply to them. NEWS Flash. The rules should apply to everybody!
