So apperantly Ballpark West loves to waste water , because my roommates toilet has been constantly running water since last night and not only will it run my water bill through the roof, it is also wasting hundreds of gallons per hour ( oh and they also don't lock the doors when the maintenance or vendors come by and change appliance of whom I also always have to clean up after when they leave a mess in my room and my living room area, oh and they also won't tell you when they are coming in or when you have a new roommate, so you don't even know who is living with you or who is actually suppose to be in your apartment. ) I would never recommend this apartment complex , no where near safe. UPDATE: the maintenance people never came and the person living below me came to knock on my door saying he had a lot of leaks coming from my roommates room! THERE IS WATER EVERYWHERE THE WHOLE ROOM IS FLOODED!!! I had to go into my roommates room and the guy below us had to go rent a special vacuum and he is picking up the water as I type!!! THIS IS THE WORST APARTMENT COMPLEX!!!! I HAVE TO CLEAN UP AFTER THE MAINTENANCE AND NOW I HAVE TO PUT UP WITH FLOODING IN THE APARTMENT BECAUSE NO ONE EVER CAME BY!!!!!! I WANT OUT!
The Ballpark West has changed tremendously since I moved here back in 2013. The new management team has made my stay here worth it given the fact that I almost moved out after my first year. This place is definitely worth checking out if you're new to the city and want to live somewhere fun and exciting close to downtown Austin.
One star is me being nice. I had the worst experience with Ballpark West that I moved out as soon as possible. They've changed managers and yet they still don't understand what their job is. Managers come out of their office to be rude to residents that just have questions. No manager should think it's okay to stop someone from making a complaint or asking questions just because they are in charger. I honestly suggest moving elsewhere. This place is not worth your money.
It's gotten better, slowly looking decent, with new upgrades and management showing some signs of compassion. 1st issue: On move-in my apartment was trashed, dirty carpets, dirty blinds, dirty kitchen, dirty bedrooms. Nothing was upgraded in an upgraded unit, but it eventually did as months past. 2nd issue: The apartment doors are ill-fitted. There was a struggle to open and close doors, sometimes they got stuck and we had to budge it open with shoulder and force. 3rd issue: Noisy neighbors stomping, playing loud music and parties every night was problematic, but it eventually ceased. 4th issue: we had a cockroach infestation that was aggrevated by pesticide sprays the pest control company sprayed. A roommate had to put a bug repellant wall unit in, to keep bugs away. 5th issue: thin walls, basically the bedroom walls are so thin you can hear the people above, below, behind, and next door to you. Even with tv or music on, you can sit in living room and hear entire conversation of your roommate(s), thats not good if they have company over for the night. 6th issue: some of the maintenance guys don't finish work orders. Had one guy walk in, flip a light switch, then leave. As he was locking door back, I opened it, to his surprise he said he was coming to fix a request, to which I responded, then why are you locking door after coming in, and flipping switch? He was a new maintenance guy, started around March. He never fixed anything, just on the clock marking maintenance requests as completed. Hopefully someone is checking his work. 3 Stars for improvements over the past 9 months and upgrades.
They say it's hard to change someone's first impression, but living here I soon found out that isn't true. When first moving in things were crazy, and they were just beginning new management. I can honestly say under the new management I am very please considering how my view was when first moving in. First and foremost I commend the wonderful Maintenence staff Mr.Eddie specifically. I can honestly say I feel as though he truly cares about each and every resident. Whenever I'm having a problem they come over and Mr. Eddie goes out his way to make sure everything is good. I'm probably a tough resident to deal with so I want to personally thank the office staff and Manager Mark. As I stated earlier , I feel as though they care for every resident. They have free events for the residents , and they always have some sort of snack in the office lol . This place is very affordable , and in the heart of everything . I recommend this property because not only is it in good quality , but because you will feel welcomed . I'm a college student and this is the first place that I've ever felt was my home away from home. I'm starting to love it here so much that I even renewed my lease to stay another year! Thank you Ballpark West and keep up the good work !!!!
