Watch moving here, they have a maintenance man employed here who has a history of violence against women. In fact when they hired him , he had just finished his probation for violating a domestic violence restraining order. Upon further investigation I found out that he had been arrested in New Jersey for an even worse offence against a woman, and also had another restraining order from a different woman up there. Remember this man has the keys to your apartment and can enter at any time. Just beware. If you dont believe me just ask them for the names of their maintenance men then look under the public records here in Ocala for one of the arrests. By the way if you mention the maintenance man and his record and let them know you feel unsafe, they have no choice but to release you from your lease due to safety concerns with him having the keys to your apartment. His initials by the way are JF.
PLEASE heed this warning before you sign a lease at Latigo 27. There are some good and bad points regarding the apartment complex I wish I was aware of before moving in. Pros---Maintenance guys do fix problems in a timely fashion and are extremely courteous. The neighborhood itself is quiet. For the most part, parking is always available. The layout of the apartment is nice. Cons--- I do agree with the other reviewer; it does seem like sometimes the staff makes you feel as though you are bothering them. It is quiet, however, I can hear the showers and faucets of my neighbors, which can be quiet loud and distracting. Additionally, there is an ant problem here, in which one will constantly have to request pest control to spray. When they do come, you can see that the exterminating does work: there is piles of dead ants by the doorway or window sill where they spray (That may be a good and bad thing). A side note is that I am also not a fan of the dryers in the apartments: it may take up to 90 minutes for a load of clothes to dry. Because you are in the city, the utility bill is higher, I would say a minimum of $185 or more-I wish I new that ahead of time. My previous apartment experiences with dryers in the unit were not so time and energy consuming. The playground can also be kept a little more clean: tree branches are constantly falling and the picnic bench is always being moved away from the play area. I feels as though some of the appliances can be updated.
I have lived here for almost a year and I cannot wait until my lease is up. First and foremost, the customer service here is horrible. The name may have changed but that's about all that has changed.. I started off with so much mold in my unit but was told to keep the A/C running 24/7 and keep my bathroom doors open, and so on and so on.. I cannot say how many items were destroyed from the mold when I got here. From the inspections every couple of months to the lack of professionalism from the rental office, this is not the place to live unless you want to feel like you are on public assistance.. The only person that has been friendly consistently is one of the maintenance guys. They hired some new people in the rental office who huff and puff and act like you are a problem when you are paying rent. This has happened all too often, since I began living here. The only person that was friendly in the rental office, employment was terminated after I signed my lease and that was a surprise because she was the nicest person. Oh and I cannot count how many times I have heard gun shots or there has been some type of police activity. But thanks Latigo 27 I appreciate the hospitality..
Wow they already removed my negative post about the maintenance man they have working there. Thank you Chelsea for posting that as I looked him up and found out that he was convicted of violating a domestic violence restraining order. What kind of apartment buildings would hire a man who beats women gets convicted of it and then gives the keys to all the woman's apartment to him. I have also been missing stuff from my apartment. All the women need to get together go to the office and get rid of this man. Has Chelsea stated in her post his initials are JF. Please look him up in Marion County court public records. Absolutely horrible that they would hire somebody like this. I hope they get a lawsuit on their hands when he does something to someone.
