I am a college student. This was my 1st apartment life after living in the dorm. We had 2+2 plan. We lived on the second floor for about a year. I really liked this complex because it was affordable. The price matched the situation. We had a pool access, gym, pretty quick maintenance, good location. Walls are pretty thin but after living in the dorm- I don't complain. Staff is VERY NICE! Parking was always available. The only thing I had a problem with is policy for breaking the contract. Make sure you read everything! Liked the place!
I have had many problems living here within my 12 month lease. When we moved in they promised they would have the crack in the bathroom counter fixed within a month of moving in. It took them more than three months. The fridge went out, which they did not replace in a timely manner. My food went bad and they were reluctant to reimburse me. Eventually they did but not nearly for how much I spent on groceries. This past week I came home to ants everywhere in my apartment, just after leaving the house for five hours. There were ants crawling along my bed, kitchen counter, closet, and couches. The maintenance guy was very rude and did not want to come out. Once coming out he remarked that he had never seen anything like this infestation before. We had to stay at a hotel for two days. They did not want to clean any of the dead ants that were in our beds, couches, kitchen counters until after we brought in a news team, business complaints, and lawyers. Also my mother in law has a very big pull in Ocala and frankly I believe that Stonelake would have left us on our own in this situation if she wasn't there to help us, which I find completely biased and unprofessional. I HIGHLY DO NOT recommend signing a lease at this complex.
Living here is okay. But the leasing office will make it a pain for when you are about to leave. Make sure you let them know you are moving out 60 days in advance of your lease end date or they will make you pay for an additional 60 days.
I have lived here for almost an entire year. First off, the show apartment is NOTHING like the apartment I was assigned too. The kitchen counters are cut up, the paint was so cheap, if my three year old got anything on it, the sponge or magic eraser would mark it up even more! They even painted over the light switch face plates! Who is too lazy to take off two small screws!? Not to mention the carpets! They said I got 'new' carpeting, but it was already stained and poorly put in. They say they also spray for bugs, which I have never seen outside. I asked them to spray the inside of my apartment, which I suppose they did, but that did not help the problem! And I am a veryyyy clean person!! If all that wasn't enough, I was assigned to an apartment directly next to the pool. Most people would consider that a plus, but seeing as how no one in the complex understands the "quiet time after 10 pm" rule, it has on many occasions kept my son up way later than he should be because of people partying it up at the pool. Even if I have asked them to keep it down, no one ever listens, even called the cops a few times. Seeing as how Advenir is so close to Steeplechase, there are always people roaming around the complex, digging through the dumpsters, jumping the gate to get into the pool, even ASKING FOR MY KEY TO EVEN GET IN THE POOL! As soon as my lease is up, I am moving out and never looking back! I have even considered paying the last two months rent off so I can go ahead and get out of here!! UPDATE: My Smoke alarm went off on my lunch break, I touched it and ROACHES came pouring out. They are also behind my fridge, oven, picture frames, in my food and ALL over. When I brought this up to management, They explained that the apartment next to me had an infestation, but could not inform me prior to it! So now all the bugs have ran to my apartment!!!!!! They told me it would take about 6 weeks to clear them out and now I have to live in bugs because they didn't notify me when they sprayed the other apartments!! All they could offer me was to take a payment arrangement as July is my last month of my lease! I think they should just void it, but apparently this isn't their problem! DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!!!
As a resident for well over two years, I must agree with every review written. Notice that the reviews were much different two years ago. The place has evolved into its current state because the Property Manager doesn't care about the residents. She sits in her office, and is like a "deer in the headlights" when confronted with an issue. The previous management would have NEVER allowed residents (or non-residents) to do the things that occur here now. I hope that Advenir corporate can open their eyes and see a trend in the turnover before she turns the place into an even worse place to live! Bring it back to what it was...a peaceful, safe place to call home.
