I've been here for about 5 months now and here are my thoughts Water - Even through the winter months and single digit temps my water gets to boiling hot Office - Pretty girls who get what you need completed Maintenance - Excellent group of guys. Shane is the man. Place - Young and student oriented. Hardwood throughout the building provides little privacy. Value - You pay for the location of being on PSU's campus essentially. Utilities are shared/split and calculated based on your square footage. If you're eco-friendly like myself, look forward to paying for others people's energy uses. Moving into a place 20 blocks away could even be half of what Vue charges. So pick your poision
We lived in The Vue for one year. One the first the day Ben, the manager yelled at me to move my moving truck from the area they asked me to park it. They had my rental car towed from the same area about 5 months later. I told them I would be parked there for about 30 minutes while I packed the vehicle to go on a trip, they said it was ok and then towed it. When I called the tow company they said they would release my car if The Vue called them and asked for it to be released. I requested The Vue call them and they outright refused. I had to pay for the rental car, and because it was towed on a Friday I had to pay for the entire weekend it was impounded. I was also told that the downstairs media room was free for anyone to use, but could be purchased for parties and closed off so that only your guests could go in. I had 2 people in the media room besides myself and Ben and the cleaning woman came in and accused us of stealing the remote to their A/C system and asked us to leave if we did not pay them $11.00 dollars for being in there at 9am. They claimed the money was so that the cleaning woman would clean the toilet. Shouldn't she clean the toilet daily anyway? It's a public bathroom for anyone in the building. The cleaning women doesn't actually clean anything, she sits in the media room all morning texting. The gym is not kept clean, there is dirt on the floor for several days from people wearing muddy shoes in there. The gym machines are always broken and the paper towels are never stocked. We called and asked the front desk to replace our kitchen light and we were told that they do not do that. When we asked the maintenance staff to fix the light they immediately came and fixed it. The front office staff is inept at their job. They blatantly lie to you about your fees and steal your packages. They leave the office on tours and frequently forget to lock the door to the office. They always raised the prices on the rent, the water and the trash every month. When we tried to move out the claimed we needed to write them a letter notifying them we were leaving even though our lease was ending. They said for every week we didn't give them a letter they would charge $30.00. Then after we paid the last months rent, they told us we owed another month because we only paid the previous months rent and not this months.
I am in African Woman and I went to apply for an apartment at the vue. I was told that my application was denied when there was pending case against me when they were non. When I provided the proof that the case was closed I called back the apartment and nobody answered my call. Later the agent called me back a week later claiming that my application was not approved because she'd been holding on to it for so long. I called back later and she said that she had an apartment available and that she would give me a call back oif i gave her my number then she said oh wait I have it and hanged up on me. This is a racist extablishment and I will file a complaint with the fair housing comittee.
Two elevators that break constantly, staff sucks, the garage is not surveillance, lobby stinks literally, rent is too dman high, no air conditioning, fridge makes a constant noise, weird people live here with dogs that stink up the elevator. This place sucks
I created my google account just to write a review on the Vue apartment. The management team has many aspects of what a management should not do to their customers. They are rude, never apologize, and don't do what they said they do. They do not seem to be proud of working there. I just left the apartment after around three years stay there. They were not ready to give me the balance when they were supposed to do and even they miscalculated the amount. They didn't accept cash so that I had to run to a shop outside to create a money order. They of course did not pay the charge. The rent increased more than $100 per month (I was told when I moved in that there won't be much change) and the utility fee was up from around $80 to $110 (they added new items such as gas). The leasing contract is one year. You cannot choose 9 months, for example. Alas, still they can do the business just because of the location. The room is old since the apartment was built in 1950's. If you don't care about the good service and unexpected changes in what you have to pay and do care the location, go for it.
