I moved to Andover at Winter Park from out of state in Oct. 2010. The place was a mess, broken down fences, garbage everywhere, dog poop everywhere, broken pool chairs, and dumped cars in the parking lots. Many tenants just hanging out doing drugs right in the open and being very obnoxious. I wondered what I got myself into. Three years, four Managers, fifteen Rental Agents, and many maintenance workers later we finally have a Manager, Rental Agents and maintenance workers that take their jobs seriously. Many improvements have been made, new fences, the garbage cleaned up, poop bag stations (Not everyone uses them), a doggie park, renovated laundry rooms, , the dumped cars removed, many new AC units, new pool chairs, and MANY evictions. Andover is a new place. And NO I do not work here I am just a more relaxed tenant. NEXT....The fair excellent Management team have left. It is going back to what it was in 2010-2011. What a mess! Time to go.
My roommates and I moved into the Andover in June of 2014, and we just moved out last week. With a mix of incompetent and apathetic management, and unruly neighbors, (which management was unsurprisingly apathetic towards,) living here was not the best, especially when you consider the amount we paid for rent. Issues with ants and gnats in our apartment, cockroaches in another, a flea infestation in our friends' unit across from us, the maintenance crew just put lipstick on the pig. We also had an issue with the wiring to our heater unit exploding, only to have them wrap the exposed wiring back up with electrical tape. It took us having to threaten Seminole County Code Enforcement to get the management team to get a licensed and bonded electrician to come fix the issue. Our neighbor next door had an issue with her oven shorting out, and took three calls to have it fixed. We had neighbors down stairs that were constantly smoking Marijuana and causing noise disturbances at night, as well as harassing us for cigarettes. Police had been called multiple times when they would have domestic disputes, but the police never did anything. Management were blissfully unaware that they had more people living there than what was on the lease, yet still refused to evict them. The other neighbor downstairs had two unruly children that would destroy all the beautiful landscaping that was in our area of the complex. When bringing this to maintenance's attention, they replied with the management wouldn't redo the landscape because our side was "too ghetto." Well, due to their apathy, there are about seven vacant units in the buildings were we lived and nobody wants to rent them. I can't blame them.
(Written by: Tierra Calderon) I was harrassed by a leasing agent here and the manager did NOTHING. Even after my complaint nothing was done! They demanded rent be paid, and it was, and they did not care that I was afraid for my saftey. Nohing could be done by the police because he had not touched me. Do not move here. Your request if something is wrong is not handled. My ceiling in my bathroom fell twice and they left the hole for 2 weeks. Then a piece of my ceilin in my kitchen fell. They told me I had to leave a massive size blower on all night because of a leak they left unattended. Their drop box for rent was tampered with so peoples rent was taken. Even after proof of payment they demanded we pay again. When we first moved in the staff was great. The management changed three twice in one year. DO NOT MOVE IN!!!!
These apartments are practically made out of cockroaches. I've lived in six apartments around Orlando so far, and this is by far the worst. I keep a very clean apartment. I keep all of my food in sealed containers, and clean up after I eat. I clean the kitchen daily, and wipe up all of the water in the sink at night. I mop/vacuum 1-2 times a week, and wash all used dishes immediately. Yet I still see upwards of 15 cockroaches everyday. They have pest control but they only come when you ask them too, and it never helps when they do. I've also put many anti-roach traps around the apartment, I bombed the apartment before I moved in, and filled all holes/cracked in the baseboards with an anti-roach calk. But to no avail.
Except for a Small issue with rent that was taken care of, I love this place, it's quiet and the apartments are HUGE.
