Moving into this place will be the biggest mistake in your life, I'm not gona talk about the bad things in this place caz there's a lot but here's one of them, I'm writing the review now while I'm in the car waiting for a parking spot in the street or in the guest parking to open, sucks having 3 bedroom unit with only 2 spaces parking garage, anyways I know most people will not listen to the reviews just like I did and will try it them selfs, all I can tell you, if you going to do that to your self then get the least months avilabele, like 6 months contract so you wouldn't be stuck here for longer then that.

ISSUES STILL STAY THE SAME THE ONLY THING THAT CHANGES IS THE SEANSONS So far we have had many NEGATIVE issues - Maintenance - Parking - Trespassing - Stealing PACKAGES - Cars Broken - TRASH ALL OVER THE PLACE - Dogs Barking all hours of the NIGHT!!! LARGE PET BULLS - GERMAN SHEPHERDS - ROTTWEILERS - ON THE PROPERTY - WHICH IS NOT ALLOWED - AND NOT ENFORCED - IF YOU HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN BEWARE THIS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS!!! OURSELVES ALONG WITH SEVERAL TENANTS HAVE HAD CLOSE CALLS!!! MAINTANCE DRIVING THEIR CART'S RIGHT INTO YOU THAN MOVING ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES. it is like MAFIA management . They Break in to my house without authorization in my absence. This is the worst place you could lease an apartment or townhouse. Run away immediately and dont believe the fake smiles at the office. They entered my house against my wish and without authorization, they said it is in the contract we can break in whenever we want. I asked them to wait for me so i can be in the house but they refused. I was worried about some sensitive documents in the house. When I came to the house, i found them break in already against my will. They invaded my privacy and the removed the linen off my bed and my guest room bed and throw the linen on the ground, also they destroyed my bed and removed the plastic cover. I left the plastic cover to keep it clean because I cant afford to buy a bed every few years. On another note, one time I forgot to pay the rent by the third day, i was very busy at work, they came and left a paper saying they will kick me out if I did not pay within 24 hours. On another note, the properties are infested with cockroaches, I notified the management but they did not do nothing. Also I heard there is some dangerous person who live here. At first it seems a very nice property but be careful and be smart, choose a different area your family worth it
Lived here for 14 months. First off, so much criminal activity in the area. My wife's car was broken into while it was in the garage. Then I was very sick and on medical leave for cancer and did my best to make the rent each and every month only to not have the money one month, according to California law, you are allowed a 10 day grace period for payments of rent, mortgage, credit cards, car loans. This place doesn't care and sends you to eviction at 9am on the 10th day. A lawsuit waiting to happen because that's what they did to me. Ruthless management, no care in the world to help or work with a stage 3 cancer patient. And then to top it all off, the apartments were nice but made crappy. Paint was chipping off the walls, water leaking through the walls from when it did rain. Generally crooked area. I would suggest looking elsewhere.
If you want to know why this is a ROTTEN place to live just take a look at the management. I received a call from Susan, who is apparently the property manager for the place. I was informed that I had a balance on my rent and along with that there was a late fee that they were going to waive for me as a "courtesy". The kicker? I received an invoice from The Colony and paid it IN FULL at the beginning of the month. Apparently, because we are now month to month our rent has been bumped up (which is understandable) but their office wrote the wrong amount on the invoice. If Susan had any tact at all and any management sense she would have done one of two things: 1.) Waived the balance since it is not my issue that their office made a mistake 2.) Spoken with some courtesy to and politeness to a resident who has always paid their invoices in full and on time. However, she continuously interrupted me and then she informed that we would have received a notice 60 days prior to the date of the invoice stating that once we are month to month our rent would go up and that at the bottom of that page it states that the invoice total may be incorrect. How is it my issue that they cannot even get their invoices right? To make it even worse she said that we should have received a notice informing us that our rent was now considered past due two days ago. She said that notice would have been placed on our door. I am 9 months pregnant and I took the last week off to stay home and rest - we did not receive a single notice - yet another failure on the part of The Colony. I let Susan know that she should check out their Yelp reviews and take a moment to think about whether she is actually doing her job properly if so many people are upset with the management. FYI last year I posted a review of this place after we had an issue with them spraying for ants. We emptied out all of our cupboards and got the place ready for them to spray and no one came. A month or two later we got a call from someone else in management pleading with us to take the review down. Apparently everyone was up for review and they didn't want another bad mark on their record. We took it down because we don't believe in standing in the way of someone's career but there is no way I will be doing that again. I'm now waiting on a call from someone from corporate, Shane. We'll see if the bad management here is just a side effect of even worse management in the higher positions - here's hoping it's not.
