If it were possible to give fewer stars this place would be several stars in the negative. If you are considering living here please google The Terrace Apartments, they have changed management, slapped on a cost of paint, and given it a fancy name. This building needs to be torn down. Mold problems, dogs everywhere with no one cleaning up after them... just the tip of a bery unpleasant ice burg. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.
They take forever took 3weeks to come fix my air conditioner and it still is broken my closer got a leak and this place has been falling apart since we moved in about a few months ago the leak ruined my laptop they are lazy and dont answer phone calls or take forever to get back to you my car was broken in twice the elevators are always busting there are drug users and dealers living all around here i say STAY AWAY from this TERRIBLE place me and my husband have two months left on our contract but we are done we would rather break our lease then to continue staying in this filth.
So far it has been great. I only have two complaints: (1) sometimes the pool isn't open at 10am and I've had to make inquiries and (2) the laundry room to forever to finish and using cards instead of coins is annoying.
The Terrace is trying to make apartment complex better and for the most part they are doing pretty good. When the office people aren't here they have security on site for all the hours. The apartments are being remodeled when old tenants leave and though they are a little small they are cozy and cute. The grounds have been looking better but with that there has been a lot of construction noise.
The management is nice when you move in and nice when you talk to them but they are useless really. The apartments are pieces of crap. Remember, THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING. They don't legally have to have it in the apartments but, it is honestly miserable without it. It took them 3 months to fix our smoke detector (which I really should have sued for considering it is completely illegal, not to mention annoying - beeping every 10 minutes). It took them a week to fix our kitchen sink and then only because I went and sat in the office until they came to fix it. The management also frankly refused to send the next apartment complex I'm moving to a verification of rental history. They kept telling me they sent it but, the other office never received it. 2 months later the new apt complex gave up and said we could rent anyways because we have perfect rental history other than the fact that the Terrace won't contact them. The walls "pee" when it gets hot and humid (like taking a steamy shower) because people have smoked in the apartments so long. When we moved in the apartment hadn't been cleaned and they apologized but didn't give any retribution. I talked to some other people and it isn't uncommon for the apartments to not be clean upon move in. Our neighbors actually had trash strewn across their floor when they moved in. The refused to open the pool until people stopped graffiting but, I don't know how the graffitiers were supposed to know that because management didn't bother to post signs or really tell anyone. I only found out because I overheard them talking about it. You have to pass two sets of gates to get into the quad if you don't come in the front doors. Which isn't terrible, more annoying and gives a bit of a prison feel. Their "dog park" is a 12 ft by 6 ft (about) fenced area filled with little rocks. Initially that doesn't sound bad but, the little rocks get really hot during the summer for poor puppy paws. I'm not saying they had to grass it but something like woodchips would've been nice so I don't have to worry about my dog burning his paws The kitchens are also MINISCULE. Unless you have next to no cooking supplies and only keep 2 weeks worth of food you won't have enough room. We have an extra cupboard and a 6 ft bookcase (we use for food) and still keep a few things under our bed. (But we also have A LOT of cooking tools, we love to cook). Another problem is that the kitchen sink is TINY. My wife and I make enough dishes in one meal to fill the sink. And she tries to plan meals with few dishes because there is no dishwasher here. You are REQUIRED to have not just comcast internet but comcast cable. Doesn't matter if you don't want or use cable, you have to have it. However, you do get a discount and we pay $30 for medium speed internet/basic cable. Which is a good price but, considering we have used the cable once in the 6 months we've lived here, I'd rather not be paying for it. Another thing to note is that probably half the complex is empty if our floor is anything to go by out of the 11 apts on my floor on my side of the building. There are five empty apartments. I don't really care about that but the parking lot is usually already 7/8ths full at night so, if it gets any busier you won't have anywhere to park. Things I do like: My wife likes that the oven is cute and from the 60s (which means it doesn't have anything fancy like telling you when it is preheated, which I hate but my wife doesnt care There are two closets in the bedroom and the shelves in the living room and bathroom are convenient both in decor and use (respectively). The pool is nice now that it is open. The walls are really thick. I have never heard my next door neighbors and I know I would because his kids are super loud when they are outside and I don't think they would just shut up because they walked into the apartment. THIS IS THE BEST PART. The maintenance men are really nice. We like them a lot. Overall: I would not recommend.
