Get away now. Don't trust this leasing office. 1) Liars: They told me the community was closely guarded and safe. The security guards care for the most part (John and Anthony are great) but they have this jerk Sergeant Hicks or something. He treats us all like criminals and the community isn't even safe. The gate on the street on Pine was broken and random homeless people could open it and walk in and they didn't fix it for weeks. 2) Thieves/Cheapskates: When I moved in, they told me that parking was $85 if I wanted the garage, but the spots in front of my building were free for tenants of that building. Those spots weren't full and there was always 2 or 3 free even late at night after the few of us who used them were already home. Randomly, without warning OR asking us, they took away those spots AND stuck these obnoxious large VERY strong orange FULL paper sized stickers on our window. It said for us to move our cars or we'll be towed, AND we'll be fined an extra $50 on top of the tow. I removed the sticker and it left residue and pieces of paper on my window. Everything has a fee so don't believe the low rent. They want to charge you for everything they can. Parking tickets, parking permits, laundry, everything. I don't even want to live here after they took away the free spots. 3) Cheap Quality Appliances: The A/C unit in the apartments is useless. It is such a cheap unit that it has leaks and holes in the insulation so if you use it, most of the heat/AC is ejecting out of the building and the unit actually lets IN heat/cold air so you have to run it full blast and it doesn't change the temperature. I had to tape mine up with duct tape and cardboard and now I"m using two different floor units to keep warm or cool. When I used the AC unit they provided during winter, my electric bill for ONE month was almost $90 and I live alone. And I was only using it while I slept because I work all day. 4) No garbage disposals: So have plenty of fun with your dishes while the sink always gets clogged and it smells awful because food and gunk just sits in the drain pipes. 5) Be prepared to be treated like a criminal for trying to park in different spots so you can take care of things. Wanna park at building 20's garage so you can drop off your rent, hit the gym or hang out on the patio? Enjoy your ticket and security guard barking at you that he's going to tow your car. Want to park outside of your building so you can unload your groceries? Better stop by the leasing office so the loan shark scumbag leasing manager can collect your $35 for a temporary permit. Or you can just walk at night... Down the street that has multiple homicides per year, a block away from a homeless shelter. Avoid this place. Me and a bunch of other tenants are about to start major organization against the leasing office. Oh and BTW: They are in the process of selling our parking spots to another apartment that's not affiliated with us. So be ready to start seeing CityParc parking stickers in your garage and people from CityParc walking around in YOUR gym or in YOUR laundry room or in your hallways.
If I could give this awful place 0 stars I would. I don't even know where to begin. Constant issues with the management. The actual apartment is not bad but the area isn't the safest at night and the parking is too expensive and they barely monitor it anyways. Called to complain often about things that should be common sense that they never fix. Example from this month. They replaced all of our washing machines with card operated ones but left the coin operated dryers (half of which don't work) and took the change machine. This means that to get change I have to walk over to the 7/11 (which has like 4 homicides a year) and buy something with cash in order to get enough quarters to do laundry. That was a MONTH AGO. I've called to complain several times and they just give me bull political excuses and don't actually do anything. I complained directly to the apartment manager as well but nothing got done. It's stuff like this all the time that makes me wish I could leave sooner. Can't wait to get out of here when my lease is up. Avoid this place if you can.
I have been here at City-view for 3 years now. For me it has been about convenience. very close to work. Mills has certainly tried to make many improvements over time. Not really a complainer, affordable and clean apartment. What I like most of all and appreciate is the GREAT STAFF... Awesome Victoria and Carla in particular in leasing dept. ( The Best!! ) They are professional and a delight to work with. Any concerns or needs or promptly met. Very pleased with the maintenance staff as well. Sinbad and Suvad are extremely quick to fix any problem, very friendly and kind. In Summary: Like anything in life we can find negatives. I choose to focus on the positives. My experience has been a good one.. Thanks again to the Staff.. If I choose to move in the future, I will miss them the most!
Overall my experience thus far with City View Apartments has been satisfactory. This being my first apartment, I was a tad bit nervous about not making the right decision. However, I must say that it has been a pleasant experience and I do feel as if I made the right decision. The rent is affordable considering all the amenities that are included, the location is convenient and the leasing office staff is extremely organized and easy-going. I would most definitely recommend this to anyone looking for something affordable and convenient at the same time.
I love it here at CityView! I have had nothing but great experiences with all the staff and my apartment was beautiful from day one. It is a wonderful place to live and call home. Great location, lots of amenities, beautiful gym and great night life!
