I've been living at The Hub for 2 1/2yrs now with my dog and two cats. Yes, it was disappointing to hear that the fitness room had to be closed due to the ADA as I sold off all my weights before moving in only to learn of this predicament. I received no compensation for this closure and was surprised to read that others had!!! The Hub is now owned by a different company and the email addresses of all mgt and maintenance people were posted, however, should have been put on everyone's door as it is the easiest way to communicate your needs and get attention. Perhaps mgt will see this and re-issue these addresses to everyone???
The Hub has to be the worst apartment complex in Boulder. It's over priced for the crap apartments that are there. Management is never around so maintenance never gets done and it's impossible to get ahold of them. They claim to have a gym but took it out of commission because it didn't meet safety standards but they haven't compensated the residents in any way. They also took away the top floor deck. The stairwells and hallways smell horrible because they are never cleaned. Most of the residents at the Hub are equally as unfriendly as the management making it a very hostile environment. I would never recommend this place, and I would urge other residents to break their leases (reasonable because the hub is not providing many of the material things they promised) and get out. There are many, many better and less expense places to live in Boulder that won't make your life miserable.
I had to create a fake name and account so that I wouldn’t be harassed by management since I am still currently living at the Hub. They are not only rude but unprofessional. I have lived here over 2 years (forced to stay bc of school) but as soon as I can I am moving out of this hell hole. The apartments are small and outdated. The halls ALWAYS smell. There is no gym or upper deck (that was promised to us as we signed our lease) and they have not given us any money back but instead INCREASE our rent. They say they are dog friendly but there isn’t a day that goes by that management isn’t leaving threatening notices on our doors even though there are other more important issues that they decide to look past. There has been a handful of vandalisms and multiple bikes have been stolen right outside the hub as well as homeless people using the lobby as their personal hotel. Instead of putting up cameras to make the hub a safe environment, Terri (main management) is more worried about putting up cameras to catch the people who don’t pick up after their dogs so she can fine them $50..mmmm....all in all this place is the WORSE place to live in Boulder and everyday that we have to live here in like hell. Please save your money and move to a clean, safe, reasonable home and not in this dump.
Hello, I like to address the recent comments posted to The Hub reviews since last Friday 2/1/2013. I want to start off by saying that I am very sorry you feel the way you do about your residency here at The Hub. 1st I would like to address the deck and fitness room comment. The closure was not management's decision, the gym and deck were on the 5th floor as you know and we were approched by ADA American Disablity Act out of Denver and made aware that this was not handicap accessible. After month's of weighing our options, getting outside advise from contractors and the City Of Boulder, we could not find a solution. We had no choice but to shut them down as a wheelchair would not be able to access the 5th floor. Good News, We are relocating the fitness room to a ground floor renovated one bedroom in June 2013. The deck is just lost and it is upsetting to The Hub as well. As far as dog friendly, we are one of the most dog friendly properties here in Boulder. We just require all pet owners to pick up after their dog every single time and to walk them on leashes, while in the building or out front of the property. We do allow owner's to play with their dogs out in our gated courtyard area off leashes even though Boulder Animal Control does not like that idea. My door is always open to new suggestions and Ideas to make The Hub an amazing place to live.
My girlfriend and I have been at the Hub for over 2 years. Over time, the quality of living, especially the management, has declined greatly. One of the two biggest selling points of this location was the upstairs "gym" (workout room) and the rooftop deck with a beautiful view of the flatirons. The deck has been closed for "construction" since July of 2010 and the workout room has been closed for nearly a year. I have tried multiple times to contact Riverstone Property management to request some kind of compensation for the closing of the workout room and all we got was a $200 credit on one month of rent, when it costs nearly $100/month for both of us to join a decent gym, not to mention the time and gas it takes to commute to one. Additionally, there have been hit and runs and theft from cars on or around the property and homeless people sleeping in the lobby. Management is very quick to leave notices on everybody's door threatening fines for not picking up after your dog, yet does absolutely nothing in addressing our requests as paying residents. The end of our current lease can't come fast enough.
