The Slums at Stone Oak. You think you're getting a deal, but look out. My rent was $720/month but it actually cost me closer $860/month by the time they got done adding fees. It's definitely the kind of place that cares more about profit than people or doing the right thing. My building (with 12 units) has 12 parking spots in front of it. 6 are reserved (pay) parking. You have to pay rent on-line, but they don't accept credit cards. You have to pay using your checking account, and they charge a convience fee (or processing fee, whatever). They don't accept anything (check, CC, cash) in person. The Slums at Stone Oak. The property always has lights burnt out. You can't get cable there. It has to be AT&T (the most evil company in the world) or Dish/Direct TV (tied for 2nd most evil company in the world). People don't pick up after their dogs. I'm not renewing my lease when it is done. I'm spending another year here. On the plus side, the party room beside the office is beautiful. (I guess that's how they get you.) Sonterra Place (the road most of the property actually sits on) is nice & quiet (except for when Cornerstone is letting out) and Chama Gaucha smells great.
DON'T LIVE HERE _ KEEP LOOKING!! Very unhappy with this apartment. Have lived all over the country and this was the most inconsiderate, non-customer service oriented place I have lived in. Apartment was dirty when we moved in, paint peeling off cabinets and counter tops. We were told just to write it up so we wouldn't get charged for it when we moved out...not "Hey, let us fix that, we have higher standards than that". Nope, just told to live with it. LIghts constantly going out or flickering, maintenance couldn't fix. Had bird nests in the eaves of the hallways so we were constantly walking in piles of bird droppings. Parking was ridiculous, many times I had to park a block or two away and their answer was "you can rent a carport". Security gate is a joke as you can easily walk in and out the side gates which are not locked - property was always experiencing break in's. When we moved out we were given a list of what we needed to pay and do before we left. We met all of the requirements and then we get an email from them charging us more for water/trash because they miscalculated, charged us for carpet shampoo when it was NOT on the move out list and charged us for painting fees because we FILLED THE NAIL HOLES. Read that again...WE GOT CHARGED BECAUSE WE DID THE RIGHT THING AND FILLED ANY NAIL HOLES WE CREATED (and some from the previous tenant). Again, it wasn't on the list NOT to fill the holes...so I guess they never fill nail holes at Marquis??
