Don't move here!! For starters, we toured the place and weren't impressed but were informed that they were putting a million dollars of renovations in. Turns out, they've been saying that for YEARS. Nothing impressive was done and nothing new put in, aside from new paint and new furniture for the front office. The grounds and hallways were not in good condition at all. The water was always being shut off for one reason or another. And that's just tip of the iceberg. The apartment itself wasn't great. Water damage in the ceiling and walls that wasn't addressed, no matter how many times we reported it. And there were bugs in the microwave screen that they shrugged off. Now that I've been moved out for the last six months, they still haven't properly responded to my inquiries about getting my deposit back. I know I'm entitled to it because that place was pristine when I left it. I had it professionally cleaned and we didn't damage anything aside from normal wear and tear. When they did answer, they kept saying they'll look into it. Now they don't answer nor return my calls. And I do leave messages. I'm reporting this place to the BBB and am looking at getting an attorney involved. So do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. You'll thank me later.
This is SHOCKING but my Partner and I do love it here. The Office Staff are very friendly and they DO CARE. From what we have seen, the Maintenance Team DOES work HARD on keep up appearances i.e.(Grounds, Landscaping, and repairs). Village Green is a NEW MANAGEMENT Company that are working very hard to REPAIR damages done by Residents. So it is NOT their fault. How you live reflects on the Neighborhood. I believe the ones who are complaining are the ones who are CONSTANTLY RUINING the Halls, floors, and Elevators. Its VERY SIMPLE, PEOPLE NEED TO START CLEANING UP after themselves. It is by far NOT the Management's fault. We are very happy to live here, and are very excited to see the NEW CHANGES to the Complex. Lets just HOPE that when the NEW CHANGES occur that Residents will RESPECT their SURROUNDINGS and HELP to KEEP OUR NEIGHBORHOOD CLEAN. It is a GROUP EFFORT.
FRAUD!!! We toured a 2 bedroom apartment at their complex, and immediately noticed how moldy the entire grounds smelled. Paint was peeling off of everything, and their ''construction'' and ''remodeling'' was half-complete at best, without any signs they had worked on it in months. We were in a bind, so we decided to put the $150 down to hold the apartment for 24 hours in case none of the other places worked out that we were going to tour, with the guarantee we will be getting it back... that was a lie. 24 hours after we cancelled our hold and confirmed our card would not be charged... Village Park of Bloomington Rent Collection shows up on our statement for $150.00. Not only is this place in poor repair and downright disgusting, but the office staff are clear-cut frauds, and will charge your account extra against your contract. Avoid them like the plague.
I'm typically not one to leave reviews no matter how good or bad the experience was, but I feel obligated to warn others of this place. Just read through the reviews, from everything I have read, there is no exaggeration. Management is horrendous, the building is in poor repair, it's dirty, I've personally witnessed vomit on the counter in the mail room left for days, even after being reported to management. Don't waste your time scheduling a showing, they'll tell you how millions of dollars are going into renovations, and only show the clubhouse and demo apartments which is probably the only nice place in the complex. Thankfully I only took over a sublease and only had 3 months here, but the worst 3 month experience I have ever had.
I thought about living here because some friends were going to be moving in and thought it was a nice place. As soon as they moved they said dont bother even coming to look, and after recently watching their cat while they were out of town I understand why. Walking in the place smells horrible, like a mix of mold vomit and urine. Halls are poorly lit, likely to cover the many stains on oddly dark carpeting or perhaps not to attract any more bugs than were already there. I have heard countless stories about how terrible this place is, and I felt moved enough by my visit here to write a review to warn others of this place. I would rather live in my car for a year than lease an apartment here. Seriously this is the worst place ive ever been to and they really need to condemn the building..
