I've lived in Two Nine North for about 4 months now. In the time I've been here, the management company has changed once, and the in-complex management has changed twice. Greystar cam first, and now we have the Holland Group. I am completely underwhelmed by management on all occasions. The following is my experience: -The building is next to a construction site – get ready for a daily 6am alarm you can’t turn off. The amenities are filthy The pool is obviously rarely (if ever) cleaned. -Since Holland took over, the temperature of the pool has been turned down, as well as the temperature of the hot tub. The common areas are grimy, grills never cleaned, and just this morning I tried to take my trash out and there were boxes of moldy (MOLDY - so there for days) trash sitting there in the trash chute room. - Other noise is high in the building, not unexpectedly, as we're living with other people in the building. However, whereas when we moved in the demographic was all young professionals and respectable elderly folk, Holland has been in no way particular about the new residents they take in, obviously they don't give a flying f*** about the current residents and just want the revenue. The building is now full of noisy students, filthy/loud people, and the hallways reek of marijuana (in a "smoke-free") community - it's a joke. Last night the neighbors under us were playing music so loud that our floor was shaking and dog was cowering in the corner. There's supposedly security in the building at night they were nowhere to be found. The "24-hr" hotline you can call, is a voicemail system, to which I left two messages in their "urgent" and never got a call back, I eventually had to call the police. - They really push on advertising the SUDZ pet wash and Lucky Dog Lounge. SUDZ pet was is a filthy joke with no real tools or amenities. The Lucky Dog Lounge doesn't exist. - Packages and the opening hours are the biggest joke of the entire place. If you work in a decent enough job to be able to afford the over-inflated rent (even compared to other "luxury apartment buildings in the Boulder area), you can't pick up any packages during the week. The office hours are 9-6 M-F and shorter on the weekends. The ENTIRE lobby is shut down completely at 6 on the dot, and if you have packages waiting and work long hours - good luck getting them, let's hope it's nothing perishable. On top of that, the lobby is shut down and blocked off, so if you ever have guests over after 6pm, you have to bring them in through a dingy side door, past the never-cleaned and stinky trash rooms just to get to your apartment. - My energy bill is nearly $350 dollars every month because my aircon hasn't been fixed properly since I moved in 24-hrs an day just to get to 72 degrees! I'm down over $1000 for the last 3 months because they can't get their act together. Ridiculously slow internet. Upgraded and got charged but not a higher speed. - My lease says my rent is $2465 for a luxury two-bed, two-bath. After all the extras you're not told about, I pay $3k. It is a money-suck, and you definitely don't get value for the price. Move in at your own risk.
The worst management, lost $450 for trusting the people at the front desk with my package. This place is trash after the new management company took over. live in the province or the lotus but not this. Fat white lady that cleans in the morning is very racist.
Apartments are beautiful. Everything else is terrible. I'd suggest you read other reviews before considering two nine north. There has been a spike in burglary, domestic violence and police presence. The management is completely clueless. Avoid!
Two Nine North is a great place to live in Boulder. While I love Old North Boulder, it's a fabulous option for those that are looking for updated living spaces and nice amenities. It's a reasonably quiet building (I imagine depending on your apartment location) - but I never have an issue with noise. The staff is friendly and my maintenance requests are always completed swiftly. Plus, a super convenient location with just about anything you need in walking distance! If you can get it, I highly recommend a 4th floor apt with a mountain view!
We wanted to live somewhere luxurious and convenient in Boulder. To be honest, our first year here was a bit rocky. However, half way through new management came in and have really turned the place around! The frontdesk is much more friendly and responsive, maintenance staff is excellent, and the communication and community life around the place is terrific. It's made a huge difference for us, enough to convince us to sign another year lease. It's still an apartment, so dealing with noisy neighbors is just the way of life. Fortunately, there's a 24 hour hotline you can call if there's any issue. We've used it on a few occasions and to our surprise, the neighbors quieted down within 10 minutes.
