I've been here about 6 months and I cannot wait to leave. The #1 problem is the ROACHES! Huge, flying roaches every where ...bedroom, kitchen, living room and bathroom. Doesn't matter if you keep your apartment clean ...you will still have roaches. Problem #2 is that the parking is horrible. I have literally spent 30 minutes riding around the entire complex looking for a spot. It's so ridiculous. Problem #3 is that there is always a different person in the office every time I go in there. Nothing about the management is consistent and none of them ever know what's going on. And maintenance repairs take forever. And last, but certainly not least, my boyfriend's car has been broken into. Window shattered and things stolen out of the car. When I see someone taking a tour of the property, I just want to tell them they are wasting their time. DO NOT MOVE HERE!
The worst apartments I have ever lived in. We had a roach infestation through the whole building not just one apartment. Even after being on the biweekly pest control list, and doing the "viper" (supposed to be the best option for pest control), we still had a terrible problem. We had kitchen/washer leaks at least once a month. Sometimes with no response from emergency maintenance overnight. Two weeks ago I called about my broken ceiling fan and they still haven't come, or contacted me. Great floor plans, with huge rooms, decently priced... but disgusting. They keep the parking area dark, so you drive around 30 minutes in the dark then have to walk a mile to your apartment because there are literally no spots. Drive past and see how many cars park on the street! I have pictures of everything and I will share them if you ask.
Went to look at an apartment today, walked in to the leasing office and greated a women who I thought was a leading agent, but turned out to be a tenant who was canceling her lease. No one was in the office for 15 minutes. Finally someone walked in and told the women she couldn't help her because she had just started here. 5 minutes after that (mind you, I still have been greated by anyone who works there) a guy named Micheal walked in, with a very angry mood, and very disorganized. At this time I just walked out. Won't be coming back either.
STAY AWAY.... DO NOT MOVE HERE. One star is the lowest I can give on this site, if I was allowed, I would give it negative 5 stars. Rudest management staff I have ever encountered. They do not have any respect for you whatsoever. They talk down to you and ignore any of your requests. You can never call the office and reach someone, you must go in person. If you request to speak to the property manager, she is "always out on business." We (my husband, son and I) have lived here for 3 years. Not because we want to, but because we cannot afford another complex's rates for a 2 bedroom apartment. Our lease is up in next month, but we are not allowed to move out since we did not give them 60 day notice. We are required to stay and pay $350 extra dollars a month for rent to meet the 60 day move-out notice. Even if we wanted to stay, our rent rate would go from $930/month to $1,130/month. Um why, it is still the same crappy apartment, you have done nothing to improve it!!! PESTS: We pay a monthly fee for "pest control" but I am wondering if it is to get rid of the pests, or invite them in. Even when the exterminator came to our unit, it still did not help. Roaches still invade no matter how much spraying and prevention you do. Even worse is we have rodents; rats, squirrels, etc. running around in the ceilings and wall spaces. We have called, put in service requests and camped out in the leasing office trying to get someone to comes out to help, NO ONE HAS COME... It has been over a month. PARKING: They also charge you $10 per vehicle for first come, first served parking. What the hell? I pay to not be able to park?! The spots are always full and I often find myself driving around and around until finally having to park on the street. Waste of my time and gas, so we bought a reserved spot for an extra $25/month... other people still park in our spot and the office "cannot tow them." What am I paying you for? TRASH SERVICE: We are charged a trash fee and a trash collection services fee. There are dumpsters on site that you more than capable to accessing yourself, but I am not allowed to opt out of this $31 per month fee. I can walk to the dumpster myself. I do not need someone stomping up the stairs late at night (after 10pm) and dropping my trash from the 3rd floor to the bottom and making a mess in the process. Lastly, we have put in 113 service requests while living here for the 3 years. Each time, the office ignored our request for someone to come resolve these issues for several DAYS. When maintenance finally came, they do not speak English so you cannot elaborate or ask questions and they can only fix so much. Many times we have been told, "I cannot do" and they walk out never to return of re-address issue. Other times they say "you need a contractor." Again NO CONTRACTOR EVER COMES. The only thing these apartments are good as is collecting your rent, and that's all they care about. We are currently seeking legal council to sue Lakeside Place for violating the Implied Warranty of Habitability Statute. All current residents, I suggest you do the same!!!
