First moved in when it was Landmark and things were great. Friendly management, quick maintenance men. Then it sold to Balmoral Club and has gone down ever since. No enforcement of anything. Only ONE maintenance guy for the ENTIRE complex. And it seems the buildins are jimmy rigged and frankensteined together. They are faster at turning around a vacated apt than they are taking care of current tenants. It's gotten to the point of everyday when we get home we have to do a walkthrough to see what broke that day, then wait a week for anything to happen. New office staff are short of idiotic. Can't keep track of anything, including your unit number when you have an emergency issue. Random kids running around constantly. No one seems to know how to pick up after their dogs. Trash everywhere. Constant flooding of main areas. Do NOT move into this place. We were lured by the reasonable prices and actually pretty nice looking unit. But we were mistaken.
This place is a joke. "Under new management" like that makes a difference??!! Watkins Realty that manages this property is just as BAD as their staff. Maintenance can't get the job done correctly so you are pretty much hunting the staff down to get on their game and make moves for you. They don't. They say they will call back and keep you posted. They do nothing. Maria, the overweight spanish woman with her cleavage in your face has about the worst attitude there. Very rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful. They won't even provide their full names to you but they know everything about you and even have keys to your apartment. There has been burglaries in the past by management! When contacting the higher up at Watkins, they completely ignore you too. Also, ROACHES EVERYWHERE. It seems to be an infestation problem which can affect your whole time living there even if you are the cleanest person. It's truly a battle and just very stressful to deal with. I paid out of pocket for pest control that still didn't eliminate the issue. They should take care of that problem before renting out to new residents but they are not concerned with that or if the apartment is even ready for move in. They promised to fix things before I moved in which was a lot actually. We waited, and waited, still waiting, so moved out. They were not very welcoming or very nice. For sure in the beginning but all was FAKE. I have lived in a few complexes in Clearwater and Dunedin and this is by far THE WORST. They also write their own reviews. Very obvious now looking back. Believe only the bad ones because those I ignored and it ended up costing me a lot more. The rent is affordable YES that's what lured me. I have made friends who live there that are dying to move out. They told me abut the roach problem too and I thought it was an isolated issue but it seems to be a Savoy Square staple. When I moved in it was about a few dead and maybe 2 or 3 alive and I figure they have done something that they seem to be dying. Problem only got worse. The neighborhood is OKAY if you don't mind thugs standing outside their apartment staring you down (I had pepper spray) or loud misbehaved kids running around everywhere. These are not very "luxury" apartments, FAR FROM IT. More like inner city projects if you ask me. The grounds are not dirty that I give a thumbs up but the inside of buildings, yuck. Hence roaches. They want to paint a pretty picture but that's it. You've all been warned.
Balmoral Club Apartments!!!! Formally Savoy Square. Not the worst place but far from the best or even good. Recently my problem with them is that they have not fixed the door lock on the fitness gym. They claim to have a 24 hour fitness center but that is a total lie. Well maybe not a total lie, its there, you just cant use it and have not been able to for over a month. The locking mechanism broke and apparently they don't care enough to fix it. The new company that took over (Balmoral Club) is very annoying. They do things without notifying you, like painting your building and you cant use your back door or trimming tree branches right over your parked car. They totally botched something with the billing system and didn't bill me enough for water for months and then billed me all at once and made it sound like my fault. Honestly If I could do it all over I would not have lived here. Thank God I signed a 7 month lease.
Where do I begin? We lived there for 7 months and it was awful. The apartment we toured was nothing like the apartment we moved into. We constantly worried about our cars and posessions. From tenants that don't pick up after their dogs, to parents not watching their kid's, to people not picking up their trash, the list goes on and on. It's been almost two months since we left and now we can not get our security deposit back. You call the main office and they don't call back or give you some excuse. If this helps one person, please read this posting and take it to heart, we did not heed to all the other reviews and look where it got us. Do not move in! Prices are reasonable, but nothing else positive to say.
They will not communicate with you and make sure you read every bit of fine print in the lease agreement. They will tell you something different at the office, so follow the lease and don't listen to a word management says. They are slow with work orders and do not enforce any issues with noise. Slumlord and honestly the area is not that great either.
