Apartments are a little run down, they focus on making the outside look nice but I think they need to start remodeling the units with all the weird fees they have. Online pay is a joke, management team changes constantly I don't even know who I'm doing business with. This has been the WORST place I've rented from. Windows are old electrical outlets are so loose they don't hold your tv plug snug. Doors are drafty, and the so called free internet and cable are tacked into your rent and are down more than they are available to use.
Before I start, my review is for years 2013 - 2015. Me and my family moved here because I got laid off of the military due to the issues the government was having at the time. During that time, I rented the apartment because of all of the discounts and the first free month it gave me. The apartment was sub par. The electrical outlets either turned black and melted my plugs, or the front face broke off and exposed the wiring inside. The air conditioning unit in the laundry room was very old from what the maintenance guy told me. It leaked water constantly. It was not safe due to the water being inside the unit and wiring being submerged partially in the water. I asked the maintenance guy to fix it, and when they finally came, he seemed evasive and asked am I sure etc because of the 1-2 week wait time that takes to fix or replace the old unit. I'm used to people doing their job, not passively asking "am I sure" and reminding me of the 1-2 weeks of maintenance time. I have 2 kids and kids like looking out of the window. If one window blind happens to be bent or a corner is broken in any way, I get slammed with a 35$ fee to replace my blinds. I went to the office multiple time and asked about this, only for the office saying they had no one give me that notice. The signature, watermark, and my apartment number was on the notice. As far as I know their communication skills were really horrible. My experience has been fees and notices or anything that gives them an excuse to fine you. My GI Bill didn't pay out for a month, I told the apartment office about the situation. I provided documentation and was told I will be fine, and it will just add as a balance to my rent. They also said don't worry about the eviction notice because it is apart of their procedure. After the 15th day of the month ticked I get a court summons. All in all, I get fined court fees on top of late rental fees and told to get out of the apartment by the end of the month. The resulting eviction left me and my family high and dry. We have been living in a bed bug infested hotel on 21st street in Ogden basically homeless. Thanks Quail Cove.
Worst apartment complex we have ever lived in. They tack on fees to every months rents without notice and give you three days to pay or evict. The apartments are small and things break more than they work and it's a challenge to get any help. During the summer we went weeks without any air conditioning in 100 degree weather. Management is a joke and had been since I moved in. The are rude and offer no alternatives when they fine you for rediculous things. After putting in our 30 days notice they gave us more fees to pay. DO NOT MOVE HERE! We are so thankful to be rid of this plague called Quail Cove.
New management again I don't know why but they have to keep getting new management here which is confusing because you just to get to know one set of management team next thing you know your drop with a new set anyway The maintenance staff could have done a better job getting the place ready for new tenants when i did my walk through i had a huge repair list and they never fixed the stuff wrong. Also The water fountains and streams are not working and some outside lights dont work on the outside of the apartment buildings then since the day I moved in I've been having issues with the cost of my electricity bill the maintenance guy told me straight out that the air conditioning unit is too small to cool the apartment so it has to work a lot of overtime trying to cool down the apartment so my electricity bill rises and that's with me having it set for 75 it will run all day, my electric bill is $300+ monthly. The furnace is old and needs replaced to work efficiently but they will not do the replacement. the public lundry room is extensive and sometimes the machines will rip you off or you have to use them multiple times to get your stuff dry on top of that some repairs to there amenities like the hot tub and pool are neglected like they both need lights fixed for night swimming, the pool and hot tub closes at10pm the hot tub is supposed to be open rain or snow all year until 10 pm but there have been many many times they've closed it before 10 p.m. and the weather will be just fine and the days it will rain / snow a little bit they try to close it all day. if you have pets you are supposed to clean up after them or be fined but i have been cleaning up after my own pets along with many other neighborhood pets that the pet owners have neglected to clean up after. They just raised the rent and they changed there internet provider to netzero which really sucks. Also I found out I'm paying a hundred and fifteen for the water internet cable package while other people are paying 90or95 and I'm paying more for my apartment then other people are paying for the exact same apartment I Cant wait for my lease to be up they told us what we wanted to hear to get us to move in but now we see its not as they say. And their maintenance team is a joke besides the fact that they don't know how to do their job and never show up on time there has been days I've waited for them show up day after day and they don't come until the following week with no phone call or anything to reschedule it can be scary out side the maintenance men drive around on there golf carts not paying attention to kids and other vehicles my vehicle has actually been hit and it caused damage to my paint job and bumper the maintenance team is not certified in gas and refrigerant and other things that they should be certified in
When we went to move out of this place they ripped us off. We moved out of here in 2012. They charged us extremely high move out costs. They charged us about $2,200 for breaking our lease. They then told us we would get our deposit back if we cleaned the apartment really well. We did clean it well and they only gave us back half of our deposit. If you are thinking of signing a lease with this place think twice about it.
