If I could give these apartments no stars I would definitely do that! These apartments are the worst apartments ever! I have 6 months living here and I have my patio fence still messed up I keep on calling the office letting them know I have stray dogs coming inside my patio crying in the middle of the night Bc they want to get out and can't so I have to help them out of my patio! Our parking fence is falling over towards the whole foods and nobody seems to care. I've called about 4x just this week alone so they can come fix my dishwasher! There is a horrible HORRIBLE BUG infestation in this complex! Your water works fine for like two weeks then they cut it off because of a water pipe problem it's been cut off about 25 times since I've lived here and I haven't lived here that long! When the water does work it's either freezing cold or burning hot! I take showers in between as the temperature changes! Please DO NOT RENT HERE AND SAVE YOURSELF FROM THE STRESS THESE APARTMENTS ARE NOT WORTH IT! I repeat WORST COMPLEX EVER!!!
Worst complex I've ever lived in. Bad management. Lost paperwork more than once. Eviction notices without proper cause (because they lost paperwork). Horrible pest control issues (both buildings I lived in). Ridiculous rent hikes (leasing agent admitted management was trying to push tenants out). It literally took me 3 months for them to fix my records when I went month to month.
I have lived here for three years now. the community is friendly, and the grounds are kept pretty well. Management has always been so kind to my needs and questions. Would recommend. :)
Honestly, I don't want to totally bad mouth the apartment complex, but the more i try to think of the good in the apartment, the only thing that I can honestly say is that it was in a convenient location. I personally just think the management is just rude as hell. Nancy, the Latin female is totally horrible. I don't know what her issue is, but whatever it is, she needs to get her homely situation situated before entering "JOB MODE".. because she seems to just come with a lot of pointless funky , unnecessary attitude. You can't even say hi to her, without her having some sort of short, sour facial expression/response. I get not one positive vibe from her. Even when they get new workers in the office, they are usually sweet for like the first month, but then...it's like they transform themselves into the same level of attitude as Nancy eventually. Good doesn't rub off on the new workers, because they start off good, ITS the bad that rubs off on them, and eventually they become just as unpleasant as well. The best thing about the apartment complex is Jose the maintenance man. Hes a very understanding, and cool person to talk to. You can't have covers for any of your blinds in this apartment complex. You get towed randomly sometimes, and its not Stone canyons fault if you do. The Visitors parking is not really in a convenient spot. The apartments doesn't have cold water in the shower, its only hot. There was a time where the water would get turned off every other day, for repairs. Regardless of what the people in the management says, I have a feeling that they play some type of favorites game. Not trying to make this a racial thing, but why don't the Hispanic people that live here never seem to complain about anything. The extermination for pest is terrible. They spray what looks like water, and say that it will get rid of the bugs. The trash dumpsters get filled up so quickly, and you usually find loads of trash in around and outside the dumpster due to it being so filled, so quickly. In the beginning, there wasn't a lot of privacy when it came to maintenance visits. A lot of times they would just knock once, and then proceed to opening the door, thinking someone wasn't home. Sometimes they'd walk in, and im in the bathroom. After complaining, I told them i would start leaving the chain on the door to prevent the issue. Hasn't happened since then, (2012). I moved in 2011. A lot of times you don't get your water bill on time, and they spring it up on you after you have bought your money order for the rent, and wont take your money order until you include the water bill, (which you didn't receive on time). Even when they make a mistake they don't work with their tenants to try to fix whatever is going on. They continue to act as if special circumstances can and will not ever happen, which is a lie. Sometimes the rule has to bent a little, to fit the circumstance especially if they are in the wrong, but (they never accept blame for anything). They once lost my rent money, and tried to send an notice to evict to my door. Luckily i had proof of the rent i paid. This happened during the time period when they allowed night drop off's for the rent. They don't do those anymore, and also few people that use to work at the office are not their anymore. (I'm sure you can put 2 and 2 together to figure out what might have been happening). Now you are probably reading this, and saying, well "if it was that bad, why didn't you move out sooner". If only I had the money to do that as soon as i discovered all the stuff that was going on here. In a fair light though, I must say, no apartment complex is perfect, and I personally have never had my car stolen, or had my apartment broken into at these apartments. I have been here during a shooting, a murder, and a big fire, but truthfully, those things could happen anywhere. It's not like those incidents have reoccurred, or are reoccurring constantly at Stone canyon. If the management was more understanding and polite, then i probably would have given the apartments 3 stars.
My boyfriend and I moved into stone canyon in the end of January. We had heard bad things but we proven wrong! Friendly staff, great grounds keep, and great neighbors! I love it!!we will be signing another year for sure!
