I'm new to the area and was in the market for an affordable apartment, I looked at ashford retreat, ashford 75, and both got bad reviews on Google. The management company called me back in reference to that ashford retreat, I asked him about the negative reviews and he said that the building was under new management and ownership, the question I asked was when did the new management take over, he stated a month ago. I explained that I was not interested in a place that had that many negative reviews, he assured me that they have been making improvements. I had a property management company prior to moving to Atlanta and all I have to say is that I would not rent at a place like this.
This has been the worst experience!!! Roaches roaches ROACHES!!!!! I clean like crazy and doesn't make a difference. I have been so stressed out this whole year because if it wasn't the roaches it was the mold on the ceiling, carpet, flooded hallway from a busted AC unit that nobody seems to know how to fix. Not to mention that the whole building is being run off with only one hot water heater, so expect to lose hot water and also water pressure when somebody else's taking a shower. And during the winter is the worst because the water is orange. The apartment itself is not safe in fact that just last month a woman was raped in her apartment and by From a resident that lived in here!!! Nobody was made aware. I had to find out watching the news!!! Staff has no idea what's going on and now I'm being told my 350 deposit was a fee and is nonrefundable. My lease is up next month. Thank god, but seriously stay awayyyyyy!!!!!
I moved in February of '15.The only good thing I can say about this place is the location.Other than that the place SUCKS!!!! First off how and why would you put washer/dryer connections in the clothes closet?????? My Washer was too big to fit so I had to sell it. So I've been using the laundry room onsite. Ok..I can deal with that. Maintenance is a joke. The knob to turn the shower has broken yet again.I called the work order in over a month ago.I went to the rent office and saw a maintenance person on the grounds. Still yet nothing has been fixed. I have to use pliers to turn the water on!!! Am I living in the 2000's or did I get transported back to the 70's????? After reading the reviews we all have the same problem with roaches!!!! I just bombed my apartment and looks like nothing fazed them.So now I have to do it again. My 1 yr old granddaughter lives with me and I hate her living like this. It's to the point now I hate cooking in my place. I literally eat out everyday. Spen ding $806.00 every month for rent is a lot of money for a place like this. When my lease is up,I am moving away from here.
We currently live here and it is at best, poorly managed and a total dump. Our apartment is completely infested with cockroaches and we cannot get anyone in the office to return our calls. Nobody ever picks up the phone and they certainly do not call you back. I discussed the issue with Angela personally and she assured me that it would be taken care of but nothing has been done. I tried to call for two weeks before I left for vacation to make sure they were going to get rid of the roaches while I was gone and absolutely nothing happened. I can't even use my kitchen. I had to throw out my microwave and Keurig because roaches were living inside of them. They are also living inside the refrigerator. Our air handling unit has leaked a few times, soaking the carpet, which they "cleaned up" but now we have a BLACK MOLD problem in the closet that contains the air handling unit, which is distributing contaminated air throughout the house. Since living here, we have had multiple nagging health issues - from chronic coughing/sneezing/sinus congestion and headaches to skin rashes and itching. Even my poor dog has a runny nose and her skin is flaring up. If you value your health, DO NOT MOVE INTO THIS PLACE. The empty apartment at the end of our building has been ripped apart and left open to the elements for weeks and weeks and it is alarming to think they are just going to slap some new carpet and paint in there and have someone move in. That place has been vandalized, crawling with bugs and completely taken over with mold. What they are doing is highly unethical by performing piss poor renovation work (just covering up issues, not resolving them) and taking people's money. Those are just the highlights of our experience here and we are currently planning to move out, and I am extremely tempted to get the public health and safety department involved after reading and hearing about other people's experiences. I also think they should be reported to the EPA for the alarming amount of soil erosion and runoff that flows into the creek behind my apartment every single time it rains. All of the storm drains are overflowing so our parking lot gets covered in pebbles and muddy clay every single time it rains. I highly warn against moving into this apartment complex, they are either incompetent or completely uncaring (I suspect BOTH) about the welfare of their residents. It may appear to be a fantastic place for your family to live but the price is not worth it. **10/2015 edited to add that we now have GIGANTIC rats roaming the place at night. These things are the size of a small dog, because at first that's what I thought it was. GIGANTIC rats, ya'll.
Long over due but much needed!!! This is the worst place in Marietta Ga! Do not move here! The roaches are organized and well established and have claim the entire property as theirs! No matter how many time they sprayed my unit the roaches never left!! During the summer my building seemed to be the hangout spot for all the apartment parties and they would go on well into the early morning cobb county came out almost every time due to fights in the parking lot!!! Many complaints were made to the office but went unresolved. Every time someone would move out of my building I would have to leave my apartment because they would resurface the tub and the fumes would pour into my unit because they would not open the windows to the other unit so it could air out! The customer service was very low and When the property switched management they started changing things. When it was time for me to move the $250 deposit that I had to put down to move in was now being considered a FEE!! WTH !! How does a deposit that was refundable turn into a fee!! Then when I questioned them about they say oh the previous management company owes you so go contact them!! Really? Very rude! Trust must don't move here especially if you have kids this is not the environment you want them exposed to! By the way There are Rats that roam the parking lot at night too!!! Beware and Stay away!!!!
