*We asked for a quiet apt. We should have been warned not to take a first floor apt. Do not rent any 1st floor apts, esp if there is washer/dryer hook ups. The noise carries down stairs. Other landlords have a clause in the lease about making noise/disturbing other tenants and include the machines off by a certain time.. dishwasher, clothes machines, vacuums, TV's, radios, etc. We can hear EVERYTHING upstairs, the dog running around and barking, the people talking, their TV, the kids that visit them and that damn washer running after 11PM. I know when they wake up in the morning and can hear what is going on in the bathroom. We even hear their walking. And we hear the apt on the other side of our bedroom. When I complained it was as if it was my problem, my lack of ability to handle others noise. No, I never had an apt where I could hear that much from another renter. *There is not enough parking and we paid extra fees for that. *They also didnt warn us about the huge rent increases when our leases were done. Raising rents $100-150 more for existing tenets renewing a lease. If we knew that we wouldnt have taken this apt. Usually rent increases are gradient for existing customers. I have spoken to a few other apt complexes they dont hit existing tenets with huge rent increases during renewal. *Watch out for the long and steep driveway in the winter, it trapped us this past winter. There were accidents of people trying to get down the driveway due to the ice. The walkways werent taken care of either. *The list of leaving the apt is huge with prices of what they will charge. They expect the condition as it was when we moved in - as if they dont have to do anything to prepare it for the next tenant. Take photos of everything. There is such a thing as NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR according to TN laws. These guys are only interested in money and robbing you in every way they can think of. I am serious. Have an attorney look over the lease before you sign.
Horrible. My story is long but PLEASE READ. I am moving to Nashville from Illinois for school. I have three roommates who all moving in from out of state as well. In March, I made the 8 hour to Nashville to be the final say on an apartment for the four of us girls. Although the management team refused to answer any questions about crime, pricing of utilities, etc, I still paid the deposit and submitted my application fee. Over the next month and a half, we had signed our welcome letter, signed off on our agreement to sign our lease upon arrival, and everything was going smoothly, or so we though. Last week, I received a phone call saying we no longer had an apartment, THREE WEEKS before we are supposed to move. Apparently, there is an ordinance in TN saying no more than three unrelated people can occupy the same residency or it is considered a brothel. The Cedars had gotten in trouble with the city for it a YEAR ago and had signed affidavits saying that would comply with an ordinance. They have known for a YEAR that more than three girls could not live together, yet they said it completely fine. They took our money, and signed us up for an apartment, KNOWING we could not live there together! They screwed us over. Now, I am currently sitting in their office and their property manager is making us wait to see her. You would think, knowing you have very upset customers, that this management team would make us a priority. No, instead, they have made it a living hell trying to get ahold of people, we can't get phone calls back, and now, after making another 8 hour drive down here, they have the audacity to tell us we can't get our money back because they don't handle it. WHAT? Horrible horrible horrible. Awful business management, incompetent front desk workers, and their regional supervisor is unavailable to speak with me. I would never recommend this place to anyone! They have no idea what is going on, or they do, yet think they have no reason to adequately inform their residents or future residents.
This is somewhere between 3 and 4 actually. Pros: Great price Spacious Heater and A/C worked great Cons: Bounty hunter banging on my door looking for my ex-neighbor For the first few months of my year and a half stay I was harassed by thugs, until one day a cop pulled in behind me and that's the last I saw of them. I had an issue with my shower leaking and squirting water into the ceiling, it took them 4 months to come by and fix the ceiling, which was literally drooping about a foot. One of the staff members was super friendly, the other one was rude. Overall, I didn't really have that many issues with the apartment though, so I would say it's ok if you are on a budget.
I am confused by all the negative reviews this apartment complex has gotten. I have lived here through all 4 seasons and have only ever had an ant issue that was immediately taken care of. My sink was clogged and a plummer came on the same day. All my appliances work well, the apt is clean and I've never had an issue with the management. For the price and location these apartments just can't be beat.
The worst place I have ever lived. Roaches, roaches and more roaches. We had them from the day we moved in until we left. I ended up breaking my lease because they would not do anything about them and it was starting to get warm and spiders started getting in. My pantry door fell off multiple times, every month my sinks would overflow with this horrid smelling black sewage water. I had a very creepy neighbor that would look through my windows while I was watching tv... I informed the office and they really didn't seem to care. The only person that was helpful was the maintenance man Moe, he would constantly bugging the office about all of the issues I was having but they still wouldn't do anything. I turned in my 60 day notice, and when I went in to turn in my keys they didn't even know I was leaving. They even tried to get me to pay rent again for that month because they didn't know I had even paid... If I was you I would keep looking else where, I had the worst experience in this place and I would never refer anyone.
