This management company never notifies tenants of any relevant information. Maintenance is being done without notification. Someone from maintenance today just walked into my house without approval. I am leaving this after 2 years because of the management. I like the quietness and space. The new management has caused me some frustration and this is the reason for leaving a review. The cost is getting higher on my 2nd year of living here, 1,400 for a 1 bedroom is a lot. The maintenance has gone way down hill since the new management started, Greystar. The community areas are littered with trash and left dirty for months on end. Maintenance request are forgotten about for weeks and never completed even if something is simple and easy to fix. Every time the management needs something like proof of renters insurance or to follow up with a flooding issue they threaten me with a charge if I don't do what they are asking. I have no problems promptly doing what they are asking and there is no need for a threat but the management feels the need to threaten to accomplish their tasks. This is my 2nd and last year here unless something drastically changes. There swat team was called last month as well, I thought this was the nicer part of Aurora. The snow removal is still a joke. After 3 attempts to ask them to do a better job and actually shovel snow off the stairs I went out and bought my own shovel because they can't seem to get their stuff right.
The snow removal at this place is abysmal at best, there is dog crap everywhere, their computer system allowing online rent pay and other functions kicks you out or goes down, and there are still items from move in many months ago that have yet to be fixed. One snow plow pass through the middle of the parking lot, shoveling part of the sidewalk, and leaving other sidewalks, especially those near handicapped parking, to melt on their own is NOT a snow removal plan. The result is that the snow remains, partially melts, leaves water everywhere, and freezes at night to create an icy and hazardous walk-way for everyone. Theres is NO EFFORT to have snow removal or maintenance people return to do clean-up the next day or days after snowfall. To make things worse, my spouse slipped and hurt her knee, so I called to report it to the management, but they NEVER CALLED BACK. So, Greystar Property's message is "WE DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU, shovel your own damn sidewalks, too bad if you slip on the ice, and pick up your own dog crap in the lawn 'cause we're not going to do it (despite monthly "pet rent" fees). I guess they will only understand communication through an attorney.
I've moved in Sonoma Resort last June and ever since I've been here I've loved it. Never had any problems...so far. Kiniko in particular is "my girl" I call her because every time I have a problem, she gets it done for me, listens to me, and is very professional! I fell on some snow on the sidewalk a month ago and she came down to my building and scrapped the snow and put some salt down. The other staff that I have met are very nice too.. My lease is up in June, I look forward to renewing!
THINK TWICE BEFORE MOVING HERE. There are a number of safety issues that I see here on a consistent basis. They do not provide adequate snow removal, and allow ice to make it very dangerous to get from your apt to your vehicle. Recently, I complained about the issue, I called the office twice, called the parent company Greystar, sent numerous emails to the mgr of Sonoma, reported them to the city of Aurora twice, took pics & videos of the unsafe icy conditions. It took 12 DAYS for it to be done. Their idea of fixing it was to throw a cup of sand on it. Another very serious issue is, they do not inform residents of crime happening in the complex. In the past month a man was walking to his apt early in the morning, and was robbed at gunpoint. A woman going to her apt was almost abducted by a man attempting to get into the golf course area. These are recent incidents...no telling how many more are there?? DOES SONOMA AND/OR GREYSTAR HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO INFORM US?! They know there are issues with the lock on the fitness room door by the main office. Often you cannot get in at all (which is very frustrating when you are trying to work out early in the am.) Or someone is knocking at the door trying to have ME let them in because their key won't work. DON'T PUT ME IN THAT POSITION! If you are looking for a nice, safe place. This isn't it.
Been a tenant for over a year. First half of the year felt like the standards they had were not met, by there employees. HOWEVER, Sonoma has had a complete turn around by hiring a completely new company and employees that have taken care of the issues that were not addressed before, no questions asked. They have fixed issues with broken road areas in parking lot and completely re-painted apartments on the outside. Management is respectful and so is maintenance. On a practical level I would say that for your money in this area, you wont find any better. Great area and overall place to live.
