Location, location, location. The facilities themselves are well kept, maintenance has always been quick for service requests, and the staff seem to do their best at their job. But the 1 Star comes down to the essential safety of the location. I have had my vehicle stolen out of the parking lot, and then broken into for theft within a 3 month span and their response has been "we cannot prevent that from happening, sorry." The entry gate had been left open during that entire time period without being fixed. Sorry, but your location is not safe enough for me to reside in and your "crime prevention" has cost me hundreds of dollars. Other comments have voiced concerns about pests, I had to fight those when I first moved in but won the battle after taking matters into my own hands and buying pesticide at the grocery store.
When we first moved into Sutter Creek the apartments were managed by Gables. They were awesome and the Customer Service was superb. A few months into living at Sutter Creek, Vesta took over and hired a bunch of new people to work in the office. The new people were not nearly as friendly or as helpful as the previous staff. It is a shame that the new management got rid of the old staff. The new management is crazy about paying rent and are always complaining about stuff. Overall, the apartments are pretty nice and open floor plans. They do have someone come spray the apartments quite often for pests but it never seemed to help. We always had ants and other types of critters in our apartment. The maintenance is very good at Sutter Creek. Whenever we had an issue they fixed it that day or the next. We had an emergency toilet leak and we called maintenance and we had someone at our door within 5 mins. Also my truck battery died and the maintenance crew came over and help jump my truck. One last complaint is that when it is swimming season, you will not have peace and quiet. You will hear loud Mexican music or Rap every night. Even on school nights. There needs to be a curfew put in place so that the residents can enjoy there nights.
I've lived here for 10 months now, & I hate it. Let me start by saying that the floor plans are very pretty. The big windows are great, because I have a view facing a ton of trees, & it's absolutely beautiful. The pools are well taken care of, & very pretty. The maintenance people are also very sweet. BUT, this apartment complex is not a good place to live in. My apartment has been infested with roaches since day 2 of moving in. I've put i?)n. multiple requests, & only got my apartment sprayed once. The infestation isn't even a roach here or there; they crawl all over my dishes, my cups, my forks, my cutting boards, my couch, my BED, it's absolutely disgusting. The yards are also full of fleas. I've had to bomb my apartment at least 4 times due to fleas jumping on my dogs while outside. I've never had a flea problem on my dogs before moving to Sutter Creek. Also, the gates never work. The exit gate stays open 24/7 so what's the point of a code? Maintenance takes a month to answer your requests, the water pressure is low, cops stay posted outside at least 3x a week, gunshots at night, & loud neighbors. Save your money, don't live here.
Horrible place to live. Between the rude no customer service management and the bad RAT infestation, I am over this apartment community. Move here at your own risk.
this place is horrible but not because of the apartment itself but the management is absolutely HORRIBLE. the assistant manager i believe her name is Melly, she is so rude and completely ignorant! girl literally takes everything so personal and always has some smartass remark to say. We've lived here since june, it all started when they have this rule that you cannot have a satellite dish outside of the patio, we had to pay $400 for cable when my fiancé gets it free for working for dish, so not fair because our neighbor has a patio mount outside and they still to this day have nothing to take it down nor do anything to those people they still live there and here we were getting threatened to be evicted, our AC didn't work and all they did was put a can of coke to hold up something up there which is now burning inside and we have a horrible smell from our ac now we can't use it still have not fixed it which i've called twice about but MELLY decided it wasn't an emergency and could wait. Wait for what? i have no idea, i had a bag of paint cans outside of my patio for a couple minutes and i was fined $80 for having a single bag without any warning, while the on the lease states they warn you first then charge they denied it and came up with another smart remark, "on site maintenance" literally doesn't matter because they never bother to submit the requests when you ask for it "there's always a request that is more important." I can't even walk because there's poop everywhere. Everything in the apartment is so cheap! it looks nice when you first see it but as you begin to live there, things seem to start breaking every single day without even being used just a single touch and its already broken which sucks because they go to the point of charging you even for leaving a nail hole in the wall. $5 each hole lol! We are first time renters and had no idea we would fall into paying so much rent in this crappy place. If the management was better we would be very happy here. WORST PLACE EVER!
