This place may not be for you, unless you are looking to live in a fraternity house with dogs. 1. Our corner apartment never got the sun. It was big and beautiful- but a dungeon. When we rented- all lights were on and we were not warned. 2. Sound travels here and complaints go unaddressed. We hated our neighbors upstairs. Actually, we got to meet the couple that lived there after us- they hate them just as much and are moving out as well!!!! 3. Neighbor next door played music 4 AM very loud, each weekend!! Without a stop! 4. Dogs bark when left alone, so if you work from home- you will suffer. When we considered renewing, they wanted $200 more per month and went down after we gave moving out notice. Really?!!! They did not address our complaints, had issues with their "easy" online services (could never log in). We rented a condo that has more space and we pay $50 less per month.
ok let me start off with the bad here...YES there is unattended dog shart all over the "pet park area walkways and all AND the stairwell AND hallways sometimes and a lot of the times in my year and a half there i did see many beer bottles, soda cups and random food sitting around in the parking deck and just about everywhere else on my level...the floors look bad even after they refinished all of them and the wall paint color leaves something to be desired....the maintenance also is pretty slow to respond to certain issues depending on the importance... the only thing that really really bothered me was that if your apt keys get lost or your gate clicker go dead there is no "after hours" service for either and as a matter of fact in the year and a half i lived there they changed their policy from having one of the desk staff run up and let you in with the master key set to "pay AT LEAST $75" for a locksmith to come out and cut your key for you and that is beyond stupid and the walls are paper thin NOW the good is this....YES its like living in a frat house but thats not necessarily a bad thing from what i noticed most of the neighbors on my level were all young..some where professionals and some were just rich kids... no matter what time of day or night there always seems to be a party going on in some unit or some big function....pretty much it is an over-priced almost non stop party community but at $1400 a month for some units i can see why people didn't care and did what they want i sure would of at that price if it were me.....the only thing i suggest against is DO NO TRY TO RAISE A FAMILY HERE... i saw MAYBE two who did and they seem miserable most of the time this complex is a young single guys place
Living in Spectrum is just like living in a college dorm, but with an annoying dog in every apartment. The residents are completely immature and have no respect for their community. There is no privacy, as the walls are paper thin. All of the common areas are filthy, the backyard and the ground outside the northern exits are completely polluted with animal waste. The ground along the north side used to have grass on it, but now there is a thick layer of black slime instead from all the dogs going out there - totally disgusting. There is NO maintenance or janitor service after 5:00 PM on weekdays, so if there is a maintenance problem in the night, it's your problem. The management people are nice in person, but are more often completely worthless to talk to. If you put in a maintenance request by phone it's likely to be ignored. But if maintenance does actually come to your apt, they'll say that they looked and found nothing wrong, or that they ”fixed” it and didn't. The neighbors are loud at all the wrong hours, and I rarely get a peaceful night's rest. This place totally sucks. Trust me, anything else is a better option.
