Beautiful hotel is a great location. It's difficult to review because frankly, everything was spot on. Views, staff, rooms, food, even the free happy hour wine tasting. I suppose if you wanted to know ONE THING I think they could do better, it would be to make it easier to get into the building after dark. There isn't a simple key-based lock system on all the exterior doors. Stay here, you wont regret it.
Average at very best... The tipping point is their upscale charge for mediocre amenities. I booked a king size suite which is a big room BUT the TV is about 24" and so far across the room it is not even possible to see. Add on that, almost half the stations were in analog so the reception was horrible. I watched TV on my computer on the bed via my own WiFi connection because theirs was still an additional $15 per day (how do hotels still justify that???), which was 2000% better picture quality than their TV... Sorry fuming just a bit...
While I would expect a Westin property to live up to its 4 star rating, this property felt more like a 3 star hotel from the comfort and quality of the rooms and public areas, and more like a 1 star hotel from a service perspective. The staff seem more interested in doing their own thing and talking amongst themselves than servicing their guests. When we drove up, there were 3 bellmen standing on the driveway chatting and joking around (we had to swerve around them) After we pulled over, they were still standing there as we unloaded our own luggage. As we wheeled our bags towards the doors, one of them finally ran over to help us open the doors. The check-in process was handled by a surly host who did not make us feel welcomed and made us feel like we were inconveniencing her with our arrival. The lobby looks dated and badly in need of updating. The rooms were even worse. On checkout, there was a lineup of 6 people and it took over 20 minutes to just get to the front of the line to let them know that we were departing. Three girls behind the desks took their jolly time after servicing each person in line, avoided eye contact, and seemed to think that moving stacks of paper around were more important than acknowledging and servicing the people in line. Overall, one of the worst hotel experiences we have had in recent memory and certainly not up to Westin standards.
NO HOT WATER @ 05.00am. Not good, and the staff didn't really seem to care!!!
Comfortable rooms and stay. Free Dasani for SPG members. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast, especially when it's free ;)
