The townhomes are beautiful and so are the amenities. If i was rating the homes themselves i'd give it 5 stars. The management/front office here kind of sucks. We've been here a couple of weeks & have already had 2 problems with them. They're not very friendly or accommodating, especially the dark haired lady. They promote a 24 hour guarantee for any repairs or issues with your apt but they cannot realistically uphold it. We havent lived here long enough to experience problems with parking but we have lots of people visiting for the holidays so it should be interesting. Bottom line, people live here for the beauty, space & anemities, not for the service & management.
Does anyone live here and hear high pitch screaching noises in the walls like I do?
Townhomes are beautiful, and I love living in them. However, the community, the management and the maintenance is horrible. I'm active duty navy, so is my husband and we have a 2 year old. We have had several bad experiences here. The first being a power outage... not the apartments fault, and I accidentally left my keys at home but since I have a garage door opener it has never been a problem. After a dinner out where my daughter got violently ill, covering both me and her in vomit, we couldn't get into our house (no power, no garage door opening). After calling maintenance we were told that even though our daughter was very ill they wouldn't open our door and we were instructed to wait until the power came back on. Yesterday, we got a notice on our door saying that they would be entering our apartment to inspect our AC filters, smoke detectors and water heater. I am uncomfortable with someone entering my home without being present, and with one day of notice I cannot get off of work. When I called the office they stated that they were allowed to enter the building as long as they provide 24 hour notice, and when I asked them to wait until I got home from work they said that they wouldn't. Last week, our water was turned off without notice, for maintenance work -- which I understand, but the fact that our water was turned off for several hours without notice is unacceptable. I would not recommend these apartments to anyone. I'm sure that for the amount of rent I pay I could find somewhere much better to live.
Beautiful and well maintained townhome complex, but for the area I feel they are a little overpriced. If they were located in Carlsbad or Del Mar I could understand, but- newsflash- Oceanside ain't that "upscale" and prices like these are a bit over the top...especially when you're nowhere near the beach. The retail units have been empty since the day I moved in, and I doubt they'll be occupied anytime soon (but there's a Hooters right around the corner in case you're hungry). Parking can be a bit of a problem as there are very few assigned guest parking spots. Management insists that you park in your own garage at all times (fair enough), but having overnight visitors is almost impossible as they have to be out of the "guest parking spots" by 7pm. Gym and pool are amazing...no complaints there. And plenty of areas to walk your dog, which is nice. One more thing....this complex does not show up on ANY gps device. I think it was built in 2008 (?) so not sure why I can't pull it up on my 2011 Garmin. I've had most (if not all) of my guests call me for directions and usually get lost trying to find the place. Obviously this is not the fault of Piazza D'Oro itself....but still annoying none the less.
All in all, nice place to live.Guess I should've given it 4 stars....
This complex is beautiful, well located and has a lot to offer...but if you want maintenance addressed you may be waiting awhile. We moved in last October and we are now in July still waiting for move in issues to be fixed and if they do fix something it is half assed with the exception of john he's awesome. If you want parking hopefully there are no more than 2 vehicles because parking is awful and guest parking is impossible. Guests must be out of the parking spots by 7pm and there's not enough parking so ppl park in front of theory garages making it impossible to get out for anyone else in that same row and the office never does anything but send a letter or tell you it is the first they are hearing of the issue. Try explaining to your boss you couldn't get to work because you literally couldn't get the car out of the garage. We tried to get a dog because the complex claims pet friendly but the breed restrictions are laughable unless you like small dogs. People still own large breeds and the office does nothing about it so our plan of rescuing is out. Lastly you are not allowed to have more than 2 guests accompanying you at the pool at anytime and they send a patrol to check this number and break ppl up if you violate this. Then put a bbq pit and firepit in the pool area and say no food or drink in pool area and no pool parties ? I don't understand the thinking there. These may seem like silly complaints but once you are in it, it no longer feels small or silly but frustrating when you are paying 2000/mo.
