I know a month is a short time to draw a conclusion, but I have to say that I love living here. The staff are courteous, polite, respectful, and friendly. This includes everyone working in the office, the maintenance staff, and even the valet garbagemen. I had a hard time with my coaxial wall outlets not working and trying to get Comcast to handle it, but Jamie (Maintenance Manager) was able to get it all sorted out within a day of my mentioning it. Every other interaction I've had requiring maintenance has followed this pattern. Things get fixed promptly and with care. Brent in the office has been excellent to work with and I always feel that my residence is appreciated. I really like the system they have setup for keeping track of packages that they receive in the office. One thing that really made me feel at home here was the first day we moved in. When we got the keys and checked out the place, there was a bag with all sorts of useful move-in stuff. Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, soap, water, even some snacks. I feel really safe here too. I haven't had to interact with the security officer but I always seem him every night watching the driveway/loading area. All of the doors and gates are very secure and I haven't seen any suspicious activity. Quite a change from my last apartment at another location. It's almost always been very quiet at any time of the day. Especially in the hallways. The other residents seem friendly - making eye contact, saying hello, making small talk, etc. Generally people seem to care about the place too. I don't see any trash laying around and there's really no excuse for this either. Everyone has valet trash and there are trash bins or cigarette disposal units on every level of the parking deck. Did I forget to mention how nice the parking deck is? The spaces are a good size and plus there's an included washing/air center! We really enjoy our unit too. It felt like home right away. I wish the balconies were a little bigger but that's not exactly something I care a lot about when looking for an apartment. I care about a good price & location, quietness, the apartment feeling solid/sturdy, feeling at least a little like a community, getting things fixed in a reasonable timeframe, and being safe. Archstone Cheshire Bridge has all of that and then some.
do not move here. i am a current resident and i wish someone had written this review before i made my decision to live here. the building shows well but there are many issues which you will notice later, including very sub-par security. break-ins and vandalism are common and they are quickly cleaned up to keep up appearances but there is no effort to deal with these issues in a proactive or preventative manner. additionally, there is a severe insect problem with silverfish and roaches - not a common seasonal bug issue but a result of poor upkeep and uncleanliness. the staff will grin-bang you and say the issues are under control or being addressed, but in reality they do nothing and expect you to adjust your standards. this building should be a palace for what they charge you for it, but in reality it is a slice of ghetto in buckhead. if you enjoy used condoms in the stairwells and sidewalks, this is the place for you.
The worst place I have ever lived, I have had packages stolen from my doorstep numerous times, been burglarized once (after requesting that maintenance set the alarm code three times with no response - hmmmm) and now the apt. mgr. does a last walkthrough (because I am getting out of this hellhole) while I am at work, turns off my alarm and doesn't re-set it (double hmmm). This place is not safe or secure, no matter what their signs outside say, and I am sorry for anyone who moves in here. Plus, there's a homeless woman who lives at the pool during summer. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.
I have lived at Archstone for 21 months now and I'm considering staying longer if I can find a one bedroom. I live in the smaller 2 bedroom and it is plenty of space for 2 people - and the price is very reasonable. Our power/water bill is also very reasonable each month. Unless it gets extremely hot/cold we usually leave the air off and turn the fan on which also helps with the bills. I would only have 1 complaints - I work a 9-6 job, therefore no partying during the week. There are alot of residents that are college students or just dont work a typical corporate job and like to play loud music during the week. That gets super annoying - however, management is good about communicating the problem to the residents - but at the time there is nothing you can do about it unless you go tell them to stop (which i have had to do a few times). The pool is great in the summer - never gets really crowded so it's always easy to have friends over and relax. Valet trash is great - they pick it up outside your door on Sun, Tues and Thursdays...very convenient. There is also a small gym downstairs which no one really takes advantage of so there is always a cardio machine available (after 6 at least). Overall, this is a great place to live and I would recommend it.
Before you consider living at Archstone, consider to go somewhere else. They let anyone and anything move in. Its a shame that such a nice building has very bad Management. Floor plans are nice and property is close to everything but not worthy
