horriod! Very rude office reps, appts are broken and falling apart! rents way to high for that very low quality! no pool!
I agree with the previous review about the older comments being left before the new management took over. I've lived here over a year and its been fine. Had some trouble with neighbors but management did a good job of taking care of it. I also agree that it takes them forever and a year to do repairs. I've been waiting for a fan replacement for a year. It was "back ordered." I seriously doubt it was back ordered for an entire year, but anyway, other than that, the apartments are nice and the outdoors are kept up. They have landscapers that come by. A bit pricey for what you get but there are far worst places out there. All in all, I don't mind living here. Pros: nice quiet area, near major roads but not directly on them shopping centers are within walking distance outdoors are kept up pet friendly friendly neighbors washer and dryer in apartments Cons: Children run around unsupervised repairs take a long time to get fixed No pool, or rather we have one but has no water and its going to be turned into something else pricey for what you get bugs (not coach roaches but spiders and centipedes always pop up)
I went to look at the apartment and it was OK at first. after no more than a week of living here the neighbors were so bad i couldn't even walk in my own apartment because they said the floor made to much noise and they even called the police. the bathroom fan broke in one day asked them to replace it they never did. they were supposed to put a blind up but took them almost a month to get it in. the switch for the garbage disposal didn't work half of the time. whoever was supposed to take care of the central air didn't do so. i had to deal with my summer there being hot as heck even with the ac running(it was barely cold and didn't have enough air flow. They are supposed to change the air filter every month or so but didn't do it the whole year i was there. the bathroom tub s paint came off in a week i don't know whats was up with that. Oh the kicker whoever did the welding on the pipes for water sucked because they leaked and soaked my whole bathroom and kitchen many times took them 5 times and still didn't get it done right so had to get someone else to do it properly. the kitchen floor was not done correctly kept coming up and moving. there was rust in the air ducts to. the doors in the room fell off i had to adjust it myself in order for it to work because no matter how many times i asked them to they never got anyone to do it. the balcony is the most unsafe place there is. it was loose and felt like we would fall if we even came close to it. then they sent a Note asking us to make sure our apartments are clean and balcony is clear of anything so that they can show there bosses the apartments and balcony if we didn't do so we would get fined.(not that i needed to worry about that) all in all the price they ask for rent is well not worth it. I would suggest better management not just locally but in corporate as well. and they need a lower price on there apartments. i will not ever live there again. i fulfilled my one year contract so i wouldn't have a bad mark on my credit other than that i would have left sooner
Most of the negative reviews were given before the current property management company, Solomon Organization, owned the apartment complex. I know this apartment complex used to be awful, but Solomon has been doing a great deal to improve the property, both inside and out. The remodeled apartments are beautiful inside. If you opt for a non-remodeled apartment, the quality is lower, but it is still very nice with new flooring and a fresh coat of paint. The layout is nice, my one bedroom apartment is huge. They are also very pet friendly. I had difficulty finding a nice apartment, at a decent price, where I could bring my boxer and two cats. This apartment filled that need. There is a lot of open space around the buildings, and a park with a huge open field across the street, perfect for running my dog on her 20 foot lead. There is a lot of diversity, people from all walks of life. There are a lot of kids, but no playground or specific place for them to play. This is unfortunate, and the kids tend to overrun the property when the weather is nice. It’s fine if you like kids, they are pretty respectful, just really active. However, I know people complain about the kids running around. I like all of my neighbors in my building, but I can’t attest for everyone. I know some of the people in other buildings get rowdy. The soundproofing in the apartments is very poor, so if you have noisy neighbors, you’re going to hear them. My upstairs neighbor sounds so loud just walking on the floor (though he‘s not stomping around) so just be prepared for this ahead of time. I feel the location is ideal. There is a nice park close by, and an even nicer park a few more blocks up the road. The other park has a nice playground, open fields, and some light hiking trails. We are close to two bus routes, Grandview/Rossmere and Columbia. Columbia is one of the best bus routes in the county, and runs very late (even on weekends). We are in walking distance to a grocery store, many eateries, convenience stores, dry cleaners, shopping centers, skating rink, retirement community, and gyms. Also a short drive from Lancaster City, Millersville, and tons of businesses located on or around Columbia Avenue. At certain times of the day, the traffic gets heavy on Columbia Ave, but that is to be expected. During the winter, our maintenance guys were religiously out cleaning the sidewalks and parking lot (a really hard job, with the nor’easters that came through). Never had a problem with snow and ice building up, I really commend them. They clean the property all the time, it looks really nice outside. However, when it comes to repairs in the apartments, it can take awhile for the problem to get fixed and not always done well. I think they are trying to approve in this area. My base rent will increase pretty expeditiously when it is time to renew my lease, I am a little annoyed about that. We used to have small storage areas, and they recently removed them. They are also taking out our pool, so don’t even consider that. So it annoyed me when they took away things but increased our rent so much. We do have access to Quail Run (their sister properties) community room and fitness room. I don’t think too many people take advantage of this. There are a lot of improvements to the lighting around the grounds, and less theft has been happening around the vehicles. I've been outside all hours (to take the dog out) and have felt pretty safe. All in all, my experience at Stone Mill Station has been positive. It’s not perfect, but Solomon Organization is trying to clean up from years of mismanagement and bad maintenance. They are really taking steps to improve their services, and I have always had positive communication with the management. If anything changes, I will make sure to update my review!
