I have lived at Abington Village for 4 years. I have enjoyed my time here. I have not had any issues with people breaking into my apartment or my car. I did have somebody take one of my lawn ornaments twice. I have had fast and effective services when I put in a service request (banister broke once, faucet needed replaced, drawer in the kitchen needed fixed). There is ample space in the apartment and I never hear any of my neighbors. The only thing I can hear is when someone is taking a shower or flushing the toilet. It is a bummer that the complex doesn't have a pool. I lived here for 3 years and paid $780 for rent. Then, last year they raised my rent to $805. If I renew my lease for another year they are going to raise it to $825. I cannot afford that so I am going to have to move. This is unfortunate.
first off i want to say i did not live here and ill tell you why. we called and asked about the pet policy. they said 200$ non refundable pet fee, fine. 20 extra a month? fine. so i fill out an application, turn it in, give my money for app fee. they call me and tell me my app was declined because my dog is not 2 years old. really aggravated at this point since we asked about the pet policies up front. i dont get my app fee back, and the man has the gall to say to me "if you get rid of the dog, you will be accepted" "GET RID" my dog is less destructive than a 2 year old, she is potty trained, doesnt chew things (other than toys) im not complaining about the policy just the manner in which i was brought to my attention and the professionalism of saying "if you get rid of your dog you can live here" i guess if your a pet owner you can understand my rant and how upset i was when he said this to me.
DUMP.CRIME.RIP OFF. These are all the things that happen at Abbington Village. Lived there for 4 years, and glad to be moved out. When we first moved in it was descent, although all our neighbors were rude and have no common courtesy...Our rent was 770 + 20 pet fee...then they decided to charge for water and put a water meter in the house and charge anywhere between 40-80 dollars a month (mind you this was always changing and we used the same water month to month...) Staff does not screen and will let anyone in there that they can to fill occupancy. Then the break ins started happening...two in our street, and a bunch elsewhere..staff did nothing..and denied it (of course). So if you want to live here...here is some things to keep in mind: -Air conditioning sucks...you will want to buy a few room air conditioners to stay cool... -Appliances are all cheap...(Kenmore) -Get a security system, you WILL need it! -Make sure you have good insurance on your car because it will get broken into probably multiple times. -Make sure you have good life insurance, because people zoom through the parking lot at 90 MPH with no regard of anyone in the street. I know this may sound funny...but seriously I lived there and can give a full testimony of what it is really like to live here.
In the nine months that my wife and I have lived at Abington Village her truck was towed from the parking lot, our apartment was broken into, and when we asked to get out of lease early (we bought a house in a better neighborhood) they told us that we could get out of our lease, but only if we paid 3 months worth of rent and forfeited our security depost. Since we only had three months worth of rent, this made no sense for us. When I approached the rental office about this they told me there is nothing they can do. I would highly recommend not living here.
