The management at Grand View are great people. Garret helped me get moved in quickly. Nice clean units and good people!
Worst rental experience ever! I had no problems when I initially signed an 8 month lease here, however, almost immediately after moving in I realized it was going to be a long 8 months. After being in my apartment for less than a month, my garbage disposal stopped working and my kitchen flooded with water, my fridge went out twice (which maintenance blamed me for), my smoke alarm repeatedly goes off when I boil water (maintenance has never fixed it in the entire 8 months). I also have been issued noise complaints several times while out of town, at school/work, etc., and recently been accused of smoking marijuana in my apartment (which is completely absurd since I'm 7 months pregnant). As if that were not enough I ended up paying over $900 to extend my lease for ONE MONTH (1 bedroom) after Grand View wrote a horrible statement for my rental referral causing me to be turned down for other rental properties. I have never in my life left a rental in poor condition, and have never received a bad referral until renting from these people! I absolutely would not recommend Grand View to anyone!
Grand View was the worst rental experience we’ve EVER had. First I want to start with the straw that broke my back. I went to the office to renew my lease for another year, they said ‘great’, pushed a few buttons on the keyboard then looked up and said “Your new rent will be INCREASED $120” I said “what, how in the world can a rent be increased that much for such a mediocre place”? She said “Market Value”. Then she said “oh, it seems like you can’t afford this so let’s start the move out process”. I told her I can afford it (and more) but I won’t pay that to a company that treats its residents like that. Now, let me list some things that make Grand View a terrible place to live. • This was NOT a gated community. Its only a gated community if the gates close and lock. None of the gates worked. The gate in the back has never shut in the past year that I was there. • Speaking of gates. BEWARE that if you have small children (or pets) the two pools on the property DO NOT lock or even latch closed properly. Serious risk for injury in the pool. • Both the bathtubs in my 2 bathroom apartment were so damaged, cracked, old and worn they sounded like you were going to fall the floor and into the apartment below. • The wall air conditioner unit is a joke. It’s a waste of space. • I asked if there was recycling available and they said yes....but in fact its a no. • Upon my Enter Walk Thru (the first day) overall the place looked good. Fresh paint, nice carpet, not too bad. BUT the kitchen stove/oven is 30 years old or more. None of the burners sat flat. The drip pans were dried and caked with something gross from the previous tenant. I am a vegetarian, so I don’t cook a lot on the stove. But when I moved out one year later the management team charged me for replacing those drip pans that were nasty when I got in. I might have cooked 40 times on that stove for the entire year I was there. And what I was cooking didn’t leave black piles of goop in the drip pans. • My daughter has huge pet allergies so I asked if this unit we were going into had pets from the past tenants, they said no….but of course, my apartment did. There was dog kibble under the washer and a rawhide bone behind the dryer. There was cat pee stained on the balcony screen. Luckily my daughter didn’t have an allergic reaction. But someone in management should have known about animals in this unit. • The day I was moving in, the movers I hired were carrying in my couch when the second concrete step from the top simply broke. It came loose from half on the brackets it had keeping it together. The very first call I made was to emergency maintenance. A guy came out and patched it up quickly, but when I showed him the second step from the bottom starting to do the same thing he said he’d come back to fix it but never came back. I did a maintenance request to repair the bottom steps, but nothing was done to my request. • Since I was there (1 year) there was 3 new “Community Directors” and new property maintenance people. Not even the employees are staying around this mess. • They have the model apartments up front next to the pool so you don’t get to closely see the rest of the property. The models are the best they have; all the other apartments are second-rate at best. • The term “Normal Wear and Tear” DOES NOT APPLY HERE. Examples: The horizontal blinds in the second room had 2 bent blinds (not broken, not busted off… only bent). That’ll be $45. And one bent vertical blind in the living room will be $50. Don’t expect a return on your deposit. They will hit you with hidden charges like $80 carpet cleaning and payments for back utilities from when you moved in. Save your time, money and energy by not moving into Grand Suck Apartments.
The apartments are nice but the management is terrible!! Do not ever live here!!
This apartment complex was the worst ever!!! I hated it here. At first you think this aint bad, seems quiet and friendly. WRONG! They dont fix anything that you tellem too. I had rain come in from our bedroom since i moved and 8 months later guess what still isnt fixed?! Yep, unless its something small that takes 10 to 30 mins they wont fix it. Also they over charged us for a pet we never had this whole time because of their own mistake and when i ask for my money back they said their not gonna give me my refund because we dont have any proof saying we dont have an extra pet anymore. Like wtf! Also if you want your mail it wont come. I had packages that i never received because "they lost it" and my mail is never in my mailbox if your lucky and got good neighbors they might give you your mail that they will always place in theirs. The staff are the worst! They treat you like your stupid while smiling and never have the correct information one person will tell you that you owe $500 for something and another will tell you that you owe $10. And when you try to leave the complex they find any little thing to charge you so you are practically gonna owe almost $2,000 just to escape this place. I never review anything but i hated this complex so much that it was a must. Almost everyone here are trying to leave and others cant because they cant afford to leave because of all the unexpected charges that they'll give you.
