Management is too cheap to plow the roads and parking lots in the winter, so you'd better have 4wd if you don't want to be stranded after it snows. Also, don't live here if you like having a place to park your car. Very poor design, not nearly enough parking spaces.

For the most part it's very nice, but they outright lie about shoveling snow. I was told they had repeatedly done it, but saw no evidence on the roads nor heard any machine as it was snowing. Well, it stopped snowing two days ago and they can't blame continued downfall. They just give an excuse about having only one contractor for 23 complexes. Then hire another! Duh! But another resident told me they simply never plow. Which for SUVs with 4-wheel drive is fine but I just moved here and haven't had a chance to put on snow tires so I've been locked in for three days. So depending on your car, this may not be the place for you. And that they would prevaricate about ANYTHING important is a bad sign.

The staff at windtree are terrible. They told me that I wouldn't have to pay last months rent, and then a couple days before it was due, they told me I did. The hot tub was always either empty or cold. During the last half of my lease, they left 3 giant storage containers in the parking lot taking up half of the parking. So my roommate and I had to park on the other side of the complex if we weren't lucky enough to get a spot early. We had the 2 bed 2 bath apartment and it looked like shit for $975 a month. All the appliances are out-dated and break down. The walls are very thin and we couldn't have more than a couple people over without getting a noise complaint. If you live on the bottom level, you're screwed. Basically this place is just going to suck out all your money out. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because the maintenance guys are awesome. Very friendly and helpful. Other than that, DONT MOVE HERE.

I have lived in apartments all over this country and consider myself as close to an ideal tenant as there is. Yet, my experience at Windtree has prompted my first-ever negative review. The complex is about 25 years old and the upkeep is minimal; crumbling concrete steps, torn outdoor carpet, twisted and mangled carports covers, filthy garbage areas. Reserved parking is not enforced when some knucklehead parks in your spot. Inside, the paint is sloppy, the carpet has huge wrinkles (fall risk for old folks), poor insulation from both cold and noise. When its cold and windy, you will have to red-line your thermostat to enjoy a balmy 60 degrees. You can expect to forfeit any "damage deposit." They told me on my "walk-through" just prior to my leaving that "everything was fine." Then they kept my entire deposit and charged me extra!! These folks don't play fair. Couldn't wait to leave.

I dont usually write reviews. It takes a lot to make me upset enough to actually write one. Yet Windtree Apartments has done exactly that. On the outside, this LOOKS like a nice apartment. In a mere one year of residency, we have had one lady shot and killed in the complex, the ENTIRE CSPD show up for a guy trying to shoot himself, my fiancees car broken into twice, and to top it off, the WORST customer service I've ever had (and I've lived in some rat ho. This place is a JOKE. Be warned...its not a safe nor a secure community. Skip this place and move onto the next...
