Lived here for 2.5 years with my husband and 2 large dogs. Management was organized, quick, helpful and very friendly! Never had issues with mail services even when we were getting married and recieved loads of presents shipped to us. The apartment complex was constantly being cleaned, stripes repainted, stairwells power washed, seasonal flowers planted, etc. The only reason we moved was because of job relocation.
The worst complex I have ever stayed in, even worse than the place I had next to a cemetery. They recently sent out a notice, warning of break-ins in the complex. This complex was built beside and over a creek so the bug/rodent problem is insane(worse than the cemetery). It was built very poorly as well: very thin walls, you can smell what your neighbor is cooking, if your neighbor smokes your place will smell like cigarette smoke, bath tubs are too big(water heater not big enough to fill or my washing machine for that matter) and there is not enough space to list all the examples. The staff is very nice, but they lack follow through and execution. You have to keep hounding them and it will take months, if at all. I had a noise issue with a neighbor that went on for several months. They just kept telling me to call the police, which I didn't want to do(obviously and isn't this why there is a property manager), but one weeknight at 3am I just couldn't take it anymore. I called the police and the neighbors son was arrested, I continue to look over my shoulder to this day. I thought a move to the Townhouse side would be better but my place is above 2 other residents garages. These garages are incredibly loud and squeaky, and they shake the floor. They will wake you up. On top of all that, I found a condom less than 2 feet from my patio. The positive reviews must be friends of employees because everyone I have talked to can't wait for their lease to end or have flat out broken it. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! I have pics of some of the nastiness, wish I could post them with this review.
This apartment complex is not for kids...they are not allowed to walk around, ride bikes or even just be kids. My apartment flooded on the first night here and then I got mold in places I could not reach but could see. They just painted over it and said that it was not mold. If I could get out of my lease without fines I would be gone. There is a lot of dislikes that out weigh the good about this place. Do not recommend.
My children and I moved into The Grand Estates of McKinney back in November 2014. We absolutely love the community. The apartments are truly high, luxury with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances plus the wood floors. Our neighbors are great. My kids love to walk around the complex. We all play in the recreation center across the street. The complex has two sides, one with the rental townhomes and our side is the apartments. We all are treated like VIPs by the management team and staff. We love it here. I have rented a lot of apartments over the course of my adult life, this is the bet apartments that we have ever lived in. We feel like we are part of the big The Grand Estates of McKinney family. This company cares about their people.
The apartment complex is super nice! In a great area! They don't bother you. When I go into the front office they are always so sweet and helpful! This place is definitely one of the best apartment complexes that my fiance and I have lived at! :) (
