Horrible place to live. The management is dishonest and rude with a serious lack of communication....should have taken the all the bad reviews on Yelp more seriously before moving in. Make sure you do your research online and stay far away from this place. They actually tried to bribe me to write a good review by giving me a $25.00 Wal-Mart gift card which is the only way they get any good reviews on Google.....no thanks!! I know because I witnessed management beg for good reviews by using this method. I feel people reading this have a right to know what goes on at Madera and Ovation Properties.
I've lived here now for four months, in a three bedroom, two bath apartment and it's great. The rent is reasonable and the service is absolutely great. It's rarely more than a day before a maintenance problem is resolved and more frequently than not, the same day. The management is friendly to say the least, helpful and, in fact, fun. The complex is clean, crisp and very inviting. There's a small gym, a great pool and residents who are very nice. I recommend it highly.
This complex was something else. I lived there over a year and it was a horrible experience all around. I had my garage and truck broken into twice while living there and had over $10,000 worth of motorcycle/gear stolen from me. It was pretty clear that someone living or working there was stealing from me. After these things were stolen, I requested the security video footage provided to me so that I could have it included in the police report. They refused saying that it was against their policy. There was also an instance where they locked my out of my own apartment during the replacement of front door locks. They had to replace the front door lock while I was living there because the key broke off in the lock making it nonoperational. They then replaced the lock, but did not leave a key or the door unlocked so that I could get in when I got off work in the early am, effectively locking my out of my apartment. The most recent slight they performed against me I did not discover until more then a year after I had moved out, and it is what has prompted me to write this review. In a recent review of my credit report, I found out that they had reported that I had been evicted from the apartment in September of '08, even though I paid rent in full, served my 1 year lease plus several months and did not move out until July of '09. These people boggle the mind. Madera is managed by a company called Ovation Realty, and I would highly recommend to avoid renting from any property they represent.
I have lived at Madera for the past 6 years. I plan on living in this home for many more. I have a beautiful apartment with a garage. The area is nice and my grandchildren love to visit. The office staff is friendly and throw parties for us that live here.
