I didn't even move into this place, thankfully. I was moving from out of state and totally fell for their well-manicured website. Had my girlfriend, who had already moved out there, go and look at the place for me. They showed her a "model unit". Of course it looked great and everything. So I filled out the application, and sent a certified check for the app fee and admin fee. Once I saw all the negative reviews I thought I'd call and get their side of the story. The gal got very defensive and rude with me, and simply blamed all the reviewers. Classic case of not accepting any responsibility. The check hadn't even arrived to them, and I asked her if she could please just tear the check up ($250) as I wasn't interested in renting an apartment from them. She refused and said she HAD to cash that check. I hadn't even signed a lease and they were already stealing from me! I consider myself lucky for avoiding this place. The vibe I got from just dealing with them on the phone was one of a "fast talking used car salesman". EDIT: Since posting the 1 star review above, I was contacted by the Boulders at Puget Sound Commnunity Director Jennifer Carothers. She was concerned about how the entire situation was handled and she wanted to refund my $200 admin fee. I feel that she is sincerely taking steps towards more positive customer relations. Because of how she responded to the situation, I am amending this review to reflect this fact. She/they did the right thing here and need to be acknowledged for that.
Some of these reviews are hilarious . Or they've never lived on their own before . I really love my apt and hope to stay a good while, at least several years . What they are calling black mold is regular every day mold you see all over Seattle. Kill it with bleach spray ..duh ... oh it will die , I have had to do it all over the Seattle region in all my years here . Another is yes you have to grow up and pull up your big girl panties- Apt complexes all over the US charge 1 or 2 months rent to break the lease. It is standard and not shocking to hear this one does as well . I take care of my own apt and yes this is a VERY reasonable price for the Seattle Metro area and I am fine . really pretty apt , large too . I have had some apts that looked like I was living with Pizza Rat so I am glad to be here .
UPDATE: Finally, our lease was up. So we moved out. Turns out, they took our deposit, and put it in the wrong account, so with move out costs I had 0 deposit. Great. They acknowledged their mistake (surprisingly) and agreed to set up a payment plan. I have been trying for over a month to get this resolved. Called at least 15 times, left at least 6 messages, and have at least 6 e mails sent to them to try to get this resolved. Being a full time student, that works 40 hours a week I truly do not have the time for this. I am now receiving letters saying that my outstanding bill which I cannot afford is going to collections. Seriously, please avoid this place at all costs. I have been more than accommodating to this place. The opposite of luxury and stress free living. I've lived in the Boulders at Puget Sound for about 7 months now, and am counting down the days till my lease is up. I was attracted to this place by their beautiful website, and when coming in for a tour, the gorgeous club house. We pay for a newly renovated unit, which is by far the cheapest remodel I have ever seen. Before signing the lease, we toured our unit, and asked for a few things to be fixed before we moved in, they happily said yes, but never got done. Shortly after moving in, things started falling apart. Our sink had been dripping underneath after a few months, which in turn cause mildew growth. I put a work order in, and nobody showed up for a week. I then submitted another, and still nothing. I called in, and was told their repair staff was busy due to "exploding water heaters in other units" as if that was some sort of excuse and was supposed to make me feel better. I then told the person on the phone my kitchen was infested with flies and gnats, to the point i couldn't make dinner without them attacking the food on the counter instantly. At least 150 flies in my tiny kitchen. I kept calling, still no response. 24 days it took to get someone out to my unit and it was repaired horribly. The cabinets under the sink now bow outwards, and a piece of plywood is now under there. Maybe my idea of "luxury" is different then theirs, since they took the original trim off, painted it white, and slap it back on the wall. nail holes are on all of them. That is literally one of 7 or 8 problems (including heater not working, leaking pipes behind walls [all of which were equally frustrating to get fixed]). I chose to ignore the reviews, and am paying for the consequences. I am so unbelievably blown away at the level of unprofessionalism at this place. on top of it all, our building loses power like once a month for about 5-6 hours, maintenance crew is loud, obnoxious, vulgar, 80% of the staff has a bad attitude. I know I'm not alone in my beliefs, because I have talked with multiple other residents who are eager to jump ship. I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for, and this place is far from it.

I AM TRYING TO GET THIS TO GO AS VIRAL AS POSSIBLE!!!! I am not your typical complainer, but with the dangers and the toxic environment myself and my family face, the lack of getting this issue fixed, and the complex trying to CHARGE ME A HUGE FEE FOR MOVING OUT TO PROTECT MY FAMILY I WANT THIS PUT OUT TO THE MEDIA to protect future residents from becoming victims and from preventing their families from moving here until this is resolved. We moved into the BOULDERS AT PUGET SOUND IN UNIVERSITY PLACE WASHINGTON to save some money as I continue with nursing school. I am also 7 months pregnant and have 3 beautiful boys. Being a parent, my ultimate goal is making sure my children are safe. Upon move in, there were fleas, and toxic black mold right off the bat. I was so upset by the condition of my “newly renovated” home. I immediately took pictures and videos of the absolute filthy conditions they moved my family into, which all have dates next to them. My one in a half year old is now suffering random nose bleeds which the doctor has indicated (I also have documents of this as well) may be a result of inhaling toxic mold. After multiple attempts to contact management and failed responses, I finally was given the option that they will let me out of the lease. Problem is, it is my responsibility to pay the break lease fee!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This was not my intention to move into a home that was dangerous and toxic to our health, nor should I be held responsible for their negligence. These are my CHILDREN being affected. I AM REACHING OUT TO ANYONE WHO HAS EVER HAD TO GO THROUGH THIS SITUATION OR CAN HELP ME TO SHARE THIS MESSAGE AND MAKE THIS RIGHT!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The assistant to the manager Jennifer is very unprofessional. When asking her to do what seems to be her "job" always seems like you're inconveniencing her. Good customer service is foreign to this office. A simple follow up or even a response from this office takes forever.
