Honestly, the apartment there is very good to live in and the management quality there is okay. The main reason that I give a poor-fair rate is that the lease renew and moving out experience is terrible for me. I had a short term lease for three month originally, and when the time comes to renew my lease, the offer was $125 more than the my first lease, 10% increase in three month? I don't think it's very reasonable. The manager reached out to me to ask if they can do anything to make me stay, first I think they are pretty sincere, but afterwards, they only give me the answer that "we cannot decrease the rent". However, after about 1 month, when I decided to move out and they post the advertisement, yes, it was $125 less, again. Why? Think about it. The worst part happen after I moved out. I was charged $55 for a "lost remote" that I never seen. But, that's probably my bad since I trusted them when they go through the inspection very briefly with me. In one word, if you have much money and feels completely okay for whatever they charge you, it's a nice place to stay.
The management SUCKS!! They are a bunch of blood-suckers waiting to suck every dollar out of your pocket. I was assessed a 11% raise in rent one year and when I called them out on it - the manager said the decision was out of her hands. They cheat you out of any discount offers that they may have by not mentioning it to you. Highly differential terms - you would probably be paying 20-30% more than your neighbor! Their service is condescending and highly inadequate when you need to engage with them. The apartments are OK. There are much better deals in the neighborhood. STAY AWAY - you WILL get looted in the long run.
Wow!!!! When I read some of these ratings I wondered what I was getting into? Now that I have lived at Island Square Apartments for 3 months I am so, so glad that I did not take the negative advice. The people in the office are super nice and the lease is no different than I have signed for any apartment. I LOVE IT HERE!!!
