I stayed here these past three years and I didn't really have any major issues. My three bedroom apt was spacious and clean. Everything worked well even though I was not in a renovated apt. Maintenance was always on top of my requests, however I didn't really need anything my last year and a half. No bugs. Pest control was done periodically. Walls aren't paper thin. They try to give notices through email. Parking was ample most times. Staff was efficient. On the negative side... The front and back gates have been in repairs forever, but I did feel safe outside day and night. The water does get randomly turned off for a couple hours maybe once quarterly but there is usually forewarning. The trash compactor is usually not working but they put a huge dumpster out in its place. Honestly, most times I would go to the one next door because I never exited the complex through the front.That mandatory internet is on the so so side as far as speed. Overall, I had a great three years. Thanks!
I livex in Westley Hampstead not too long ago. I must say that my observation of the office staff was very different. Mia and Amy were great very professional and pleasant from the application process through out the time of my lease. Michelle was very pleasant and helpful. Victor the other leasong agent was always help. I broke my lease due to death in the family and at no time did i have a bad experience. Yes the trash compactor was always down, but my apartment was pleasant very few issues....... I think i called the office in the morning and maintenance was there that afternoon. I appreciated the staff!
I have written many of reviews on WH, I have rented at many communities, but have never had so many issues at one. I'm not sure why residents are charged for trash compactor service when it's always,always,always broken. I don't know why the leasing office is being renovated when no one lives there, why not repair the appliances, and replaces the nasty faucets in the kitchens and bathrooms. Internet is forced into your lease, but it doesn't work, it takes 15 minutes to login and check my email, which doesn't work in my bedrooms. You have15 families trying to share bandwidth. How dumb. The parking lot is always full of trash , the gentleman with the white dodge walks down the middle of the street, picks up nearly nothing. He clearly hates his job, because in 2 years he hasn't done it. Maintenance takes forever to show up, and only does a temporary fix. It took me 3 months to get a fridge that works even slightly and the ones have still leaks so I bought my own. I'd have been moved if I weren't afraid of signing another lease with acommunity like WH. if you've gotten stuck in a WH lease tough it out and buy a home and never ever come back, because I promise residing here has been by far the worse experience I've ever encountered, from having my vehicle stolen, to my fridge constantly malfunctioning to the smell of weed every time I open my windows. I haven't met anyone who likes living here, and the honest employees even hate working here. They deserve .01 stars still waiting for them to hire a qualified manager. Update: There are now rats at the dumpster negate of the amount of trash overflowing on to the ground.
This complex now has deteriorated from the wonderful place my husband and I have called home. On site management and their leasing agents have no idea what customer service means. They are rude and disrespectful. Upon calling about renewing our lease, we were told that we are now being forced to pay for Internet for the community although we have our own service provider. It appears to me that this is a new way for them to pay for all the "upgrades" they are making to the leasing office. Why force me to pay for a service my family will never use? If I could give them a half of a star, I would. Mind you, this was all done without written notification to residents (they rarely notify residents of anything, trash compactor is always down and overflowing, and maintenance is non existent). The ironic part is if you fail to give them 2 months written notice that you are moving they penalize you. How can I penalize them for no notice regarding these changes they continually make (maybe seek legal advice as they are stripping me of my rights)!
I DO NOT RECOMMEND WESLEY BY ANY MEANS!! GIVE "0" STARS!! I'M UNDER MY 2nd LEASE. THE 1st WAS A (9) MONTH LEASE FILLED WITH ISSUES FROM MOVE-IN. The 2nd IS AN (11) MONTH LEASE FILLED WITH NUMEROUS MAINTENANCE CALLS, EXCESSIVE WATER BILLS, MOLD.. EXTREMELY LONG LIST! Let's begin with my first experience: I was told that the FIRST unit I leased was an upgraded unit and all appliances, carpeting, painting and lighting fixtures would be brand new with an upgraded monthly fee. Upon move in, I immediately noticed nothing was done to this property. Painting was filled with different colors throughout the unit and chips on every door with paint that was obviously not new (as repairs couldn't be done supposedly because paint could not be found to match the upgraded colors). It took three months of occupancy before even a small section of wall in my kitchen area could be repainted. Again, with the wrong color (patchwork). It took four months to repaint my entry area but again, just patchwork. This apartment was leaking, carpet buckling very early into my move (maybe 1 month if not less) another visible sign of patchwork. Contacted the manager who said it could be fixed but the repairman shows up four months later to say he can't fix it. My carpet was filled with stains & cleaning wasn't able to be done until four months into my lease preventing moving in furniture. Mind you, the guy who cleaned it was EXTREMELY rude!! He refused to go over small areas and exited the unit in a very irate manner. Told me to contact management but I declined because I was already unhappy with the deceptive lies, constant disregard for maintenance requests, many maintenance issues already unanswered, bug issues, and my list can go on forever!! Yet, NO DEPOSIT RETURNED!! I am currently into a different unit (which I could view before move in) as I refused to take any staffs information on what to expect. I selected a unit that I could SEE was BASIC but MORE MONTHLY than my supposed upgraded unit. Getting a property built, start of the school year, work and more did not really allow me options to look around. Took my chances for the 2nd TIME. NOW AFTER OCCUPANCY, MY WATER BILLS HAVE BEEN OVER $161 and going higher MONTHLY FOR THE LAST FOUR MONTHS for space primarily used for sleep!! AGAIN, WESLEY CORPORATE SAID, "DISREGARD THE FIRST 3 BILLS. WATER WAS NOT READING. WE WERE BEING GENEROUS!!" JUST LIKE MY STOVE, INTERNET, MOLDED BATHROOM (inoperable for 3 months), REFRIGERATOR (pieces thrown together), PEST CONTROL, ETC.- CORP NOT GENEROUS FOR THEIR MESSY CONDITIONS? EQUALLY A MESS! AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE! However, "I THINK INCREASING FEES IS A MEANS TO AFFORD THE UPGRADES TO DECEIVE POTENTIAL new tenants!" CORPORATE CALLS TO DISCUSS MY HIGH WATER BILLS. I ASSUMED BECAUSE THIS IS MY 2nd LEASE 2nd PROPERTY, WE COULD MAKE SENSE OF IT BY LOOKING AT MY PRIOR RENTAL HERE. CORPORATE EXPLAINS IT BY SAYING, "OH DON'T LOOK AT THAT BECAUSE YOUR WATER READING WAS INCORRECT FOR THE ENTIRE NINE MONTHS YOU OCCUPIED THE FIRST PROPERTY." "REALLY" HOW STRANGE THAT WESLEY CAN VALIDATE SEVERAL MONTHS BUT EASILY EXPLAIN AWAY OVER ONE YEAR! A LESSON FOR ME!! I SINCERELY PRAY THAT REVIEWS MAKE ALL OF THE DIFFERENCE BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE MOVES INTO THIS COMMUNITY!! WHEN I WAS DECIDING ON MY 2nd LEASE, NUMEROUS PEOPLE WERE COMING INTO THE FRONT OFFICE ANGRY & LEAVING ANGRY. STAFF WOULD ACT LIKE THESE WERE TROUBLESOME TENANTS. THAT WAS GOD!! I disregarded it! These were unsatisfied tenants who work hard & we're all trying to honor the obligation we've signed!! About 1 month into my second lease I had an apartment fire caused by sparks inside my OVEN. NEVER MIND THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER NEARBY, MINE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED SINCE 2013!! WE HAD TO RETRIEVE ONE THREE FLIGHTS UP. I CONTACTED THE MANAGER MICHELLE AND SHE NOTIFIED ME THAT SHE WAS SENDING SOMEONE TO CLEAN JUST THE KITCHEN COUNTER TOP & FLOOR NOT ALL OF THE DAMAGE TO THE ENTIRE UNIT BY THE EXTINGUISHER CHEMICALS. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF!!! LOOK FURTHER!! LET THIS BE YOUR LESSON!!!! REGRETFULLY, I DISREGARDED MINE!!
