I have lived here for 9 months and I've never had a problem from anyone. I was treated well upon arrival last June. The ladies in the office are straight to the point. I saw a spider shortly after I moved in, I called the office and they informed me that a company would be out in one or two business days to spray. I came home to a receipt and haven't seen any other pests since that day. I don't see or hear my neighbors often but when I do, they are friendly. This complex is well built. I live on the ground floor and I seldom ever hear the people upstairs. My utilities were low to average in cost throughout the hot summer months. I am very pleased with where I chose to live. I did my homework before choosing Laurel Wood and I believe I made the right choice. The office is strict and thorough, therefore it's a great place to live!
Maintenance was ok and I enjoyed talking to them when I did. The office staff is very decietful. Norma was somewhat rude and whitney was a flat out idiot. They will do their best to squeeze every penny out you unless you're a muslim ( go figure ). They claimed that our ice bucket was missing which wasn't true. They claimed the carpet was damaged that wasn't true, they were switching to hardwood floors in the near future anyways. Again, the office staff is rude and obnoxious. They also favor people over others.
The units are well taken care of for the most part and maintenance is great, but forget trying to deal with the office staff. The property manager is a terrible, grumpy woman who will try to squeeze every single penny out of you. Our air conditioning went out/malfunctioned at least 4 times before they finally replaced the unit. Our electricity bill skyrocketed and we tried to receive a little discount on rent for two consecutive months of a high electricity bill due to the malfunctioning air conditioning and Norma, the property manager, tried to tell us that it had nothing to do with our unit. It took some arguing to even get a little discount which still did not make up for the exorbitant amount added to our electricity bill because of her procrastination. However, this was not the only situation we had. We made the mistake of recommending these apartments to a family member. When they went to the office to inquire about renting Norma was completely rude to our family and even went as far to call them liars even though they had all the required paperwork and documentation. Definitely would not live here ever again just because of the ladies in the office.
Couldn't get accepted in but kinda glad of it these people are plain rude in the office. I asked why & the lady told me I had horrible credit it's not good and proceeded to show me from a distance my credit history but would not give me a copy cause they had to pay for it. Isn't that what I paid the 70.00 application fee for ? Good piece of advice stay away from laurel wood apartments in Smyrna Tennessee..
The people who run the office are very rude. They act like the don't like their jobs. Are the owners not checking these reviews? Go find a different job if you don't like your job. They don't smile at all and are down right mean.
