Flux is a great place to live. It has a great location (near the bus line), a huge pool, and other amenities like a gym and sauna. They even have breakfast on Wednesday mornings and free Caribou Coffee every day in the lobby. The apartment building is always clean, and the staff are terrific. While all of the concierge I have interacted with (Michael, Mohamed, Trevor, Michael) have been great, I have interacted most with Daniel. No matter how crappy of a day you've had, that guy makes you feel welcome when you walk past the desk or go to check your mail. Keep up the great work folks!
If you want to have a "get away" place from all the hullabaloo that is Work/Life then this is the place for you! We moved in beginning of October and been great ever since! You're always going to run into the tenants that have forgotten how to be mature and respectable in any apartment complex, but here they are few and far between with most of the residents (especially the dog owners!) being very polite, positive and respectful towards each other. Below is a breakdown of every rating. It is also something to note I'm not Mr. Monopoly and I wasn't considering living here because of the price. Fortunately we found the 1 Bed + Den for rent at a lower price then the original and jumped at the opportunity to live in a place that offers all the perks of a resort! Noise: people complain about the pool party noise...buuut if you were smart in picking the apt and enjoy the occasional dip in the pool but not the partying you wouldn't pick one FACING the pool would you now? IF YOU WANT TO PARTY AT THE POOL AND ENJOY THE NOISE OF THE POOL PICK AN APT. FACING THE POOL! it's a win win! - We face away from the pool (Facing the city) and we can't hear any noise from there, it's perfect and quiet. (win win for us and we can see the dog park for cooper to enjoy) - You can hear people walking in the hallway IF AND ONLY IF you're right next to the door to the hallway else you can't hear your neighbors ABOVE/BELOW/SIDE to SIDE!! (This was a game changer, I mean I can hear them in their apts as I walk down the hallway but as soon as I enter my bungalow all I hear is what's in my apt!) Grounds: The crew is ALWAYS keeping it clean and up to date, bravo. Safety: All the warning signs are lit and showing you where to go in case of fire/emergency, cameras in main areas to keep the boogieman from running a muck. Neighborhood: Its UPTOWN, right next to the greenway, 4 blocks from both lake of the isles and lake calhoun! close to the restaurants/shops/bar scene but far enough away to not be bothered by it. Recommended you get a garage stall or double before winter because uptown parking is brutal in general. Maintenance: Whenever something happens in the apt we report it AND IMMEDIATELY afterwards someone is checking in on it or coming in to resolve the situation. Staff: Amazing staff...Almost always available and if they're not they let us know
I will rate ZERO if I can. Made reservations with one of the leasing agent over the phone, but was told there was no one available to show me the apartment when I came there. I didn't actually live there before, and I don't plan to live there anymore. I seriously recommend anyone who plan to throw your money there, think carefully before you even take the phone.
I really enjoyed my experience at Flux Apartments. The staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. They have frequent events for residents, including pool parties in the summer, cooking demos, and more. The building is dog/cat friendly and the facilities are clean and modern. The maintenance folks are responsive and do a very good job. The building is located right on the Greenway and in the midst of several bars, restaurants, and stores, including a grocery store only two blocks away. I highly recommend Flux Apartments.
I have lived at Flux for almost a year and a half, and while initially I was extremely pleased with this property, unfortunately, it has transferred property management companies within the last few months. The transition between change in management has been handeld HORRIBLY. I would not recommend any of my friends to live here now. I resigned a lease in March, and in June, I got a notification that my rent was up for renewal. Additionally, my automatic payments, which I had not had a problem with for over a year, suddenly stopped. When I brought this error to current management, and asked for them to show a little appreciation that they had made an error and put me in a difficult position, they did absolutely nothing to show there apology or gratitude towards a valued resident. I have always paid my rent on time and taken exceptional care of my apartment, but none of this mattered. I was never even offered an apology from the manager for the hassle they had caused. It is unfortunate, since the maintenance and concierge staff here is UNBELIEVABLE! I can not rave enough about them. Unfortunately, I will be looking to leave this property as soon as possible. If you want to be treated with respect, my recommendation is to keep looking. There are definitely enough properties in the uptown area that will be more accommodating and whiling to work with you.
