During our 12-month stay at Clairmont we had a fantastic experience - the local management in the front office was extremely friendly and helpful, the maintenance guys were always really nice and quick to fix issues and keep the place looking good, and the facilities were really nice. However, after moving out we were blindsided by a $900 bill for replacing carpet and padding in the entire apartment. When we inquired about the reason for the replacement, we were directed to the corporate office, Kotarides. The paralegal we spoke with was extremely rude and unprofessional and refused to allow us to speak with any other management. They sent us photos of a large bleach stain in the carpet and what looked like ink stains around the doorway - all of which came to the surface AFTER they hired professional cleaners to come in. We were never provided with an itemized receipt for the carpet, padding, or labor cost, only a bill with a $900 charge for ‘carpet replacement.’ Although we never used anything but a vacuum cleaner on the carpet, they claimed we had professional cleaners come in which resulted in the stains. The local office, who had previously been extremely helpful, only directed us to corporate and said they did not handle billing and couldn’t do anything about the situation because the carpet had already been replaced. Be sure to take photos with time stamps of everything before you move out and ask to be present for the inspection. These people are crooks.
The current management here is terrible. My packages kept getting sent away because the lady in the office could not figure out whether or not I lived in the complex (even though I had a signed lease there). At the time of move out, I requested that I do the final walk through with Samantha. My boyfriend also called to confirm that we were going to be present for the final inspection. On the day of inspection, I called to see what time she wanted us to come for the inspection and she said she already completed it, found bleach stains all over the floor (I don't even own bleach), and that she sent the inspection paperwork to the corporate office. When I asked why she did the inspection without us she replied, "from our conversation I didn't gather that you wanted to be present". Two weeks later I get an email that they tore out the carpets (and that we are going to have to pay to replace them!!) because there are stains from pets...we don't even own pets (and they know that because it's in the lease..that I signed..which the lady still has no recollection of)! This is a scam that the Clairmont has going on. When I called to talk with someone at Clairmont about this, no one called me back. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
I don't normally write reviews, but my family's experience here was awesome and then went downhill. I think it's worth a review, especially based on the one I just read about being evicted. We lived here for two years. At first, this was an awesome place to live. The front staff bent over backwards to make us feel welcome and fix any issues we encountered. All of the amenities (clubhouse, workout room) were available 24/7 with your fob. At some point the office staff changed. The current staff is terrible. One woman is super rude and unhelpful. Another woman is friendly and kind of helpful, but isn't always the most knowledgeable (I had to ask for a package three different times and then get it myself because she couldn't read the numbers correctly). I haven't really had much interaction with the man, but he doesn't seem very helpful either. They changed it so you can't access the clubhouse after 10pm now and you have to go through the back door in order to get to the workout room, which is pretty inconvenient (especially if it is raining and you are taking shelter from a possible tornado, which happened to us). The maintenance staff has always been super helpful and prompt, definitely no complaints there. I just hated the change in the office staff. I used to know all of their names--Patrick was the best! And they were super helpful. Last, we moved out about a couple of months ago. We received our final bill. We had to pay for both carpet spot removal and carpet replacement. I would be ok with paying for one, but not both. Also, we lived in the apartment for two years and we regularly vacuumed the carpet and used Resolve to treat spots. I am not sure what else we were supposed to do in order to not get charged for carpet replacement. The lease says you only have to pay for things that are beyond normal "wear and tear." I would have argued the carpet charges, but when I tried to speak to someone about another issue (we thought we were getting charged for not putting in our 60-day notice because we moved out early), I was met with tight lips and then rudeness. I tried to call the front office and I got the rude lady who told me she couldn't discuss it, only corporate. She gave me a number to call corporate and the women I spoke to there was beyond rude. I have never had such terrible customer service in my life. She kept saying, "you signed the lease, it's in the paperwork you signed." She never once took the time to work through and explain to me that we weren't actually being double-charged. I am not even sure she was listening to my questions. She just said it's in the paperwork. We finally called the front office again and spoke with the friendly lady and she couldn't answer my question right away, but took the time to look into our bill and explain the ledger and how we weren't actually being double-charged. After all of this work, we just paid for the carpet whether we agreed with the charge or not. I gave Clairmont three stars, because it's not a bad place to live day-to-day. Before it was awesome, but now it's ok. As long as you pay on time and avoid any interaction with the front office staff, your daily living is fine. Just be prepared for terrible customer service if you have a non-maintenance issue (including trying to pick up packages) and be prepared to overpay upon move out.
Management at this property is horrible and customer service is completely lacking. They do not even go over their basic policies at move-in and then deny any responsibility and put all the blame on the "corporate office." We just moved in about a week ago and have already received an eviction letter with very harsh language. There was absolutely no courtesy phone call or notification of any kind that our rent is due at this time and no mention of it even at move-in a week ago. They did not inform us at any time about how the rent payment schedule works or the auto pay option for rent until we physically went to speak to them about the eviction letter. The front reception lady also refused to let us speak with the manager who was sitting in his office at the time. I asked her if she could just knock on his door and ask him and she said he is too busy to speak to me and she would email him to ask him about an appointment time and she wouldn't know when that would be. About a week into living here and they are threatening to file an eviction lawsuit against us for which we will also be charged "court and attorney fees" if we do not pay the rent and additional large sum late fee in a money order payment format only by the end of the day today. What a warm welcome!
This is a great place to live! The apartments are very well managed with great staff and prompt maintenance. The amenities are really nice as well including a small but sufficient gym, club house, and resort style pool. The apartments are q great quality, very spacious for the price. And to top it off it's conveniently located off 85, and not far from 147, and minutes drive from downtown.
