We just moved here for like a month. I loooooove this community. At first, I was hesitated to choose here because of the higher rent compared to another apartment I found in Belmont. My husband love this place and stick to choose here. Now I have no regret!~ Excellent community. It has a fitting center and swimming pool. Close to nature (I enjoy jogging around), safe environment, many trails and parks nearby, not far from grocery store (99 Ranch, Marina, Safeway, Costco). Excellent apartment. My apartment is the smallest (712 sqt) but it's comfortable! Much sunlight, many windows. Have a indoor parking place. Excellent and friendly staff. Our apartment has some problems when we moved in. Like the gas stove is not working well. THEY CHANGE A ENTIRE NEW GAS STOVE(INCLUDING OVEN) FOR US. We were surprised. Anyway, staff are nice and helpful. Murray, our leasing consultant. Kyle, our community manager, fixed the sink for us. Andrew, our maintenance manager, fixed the plugin behind the refrigerator for us. Thank you guys! :) I saw the bad reviews here. But they were several years ago and most people only write a review when they are angry. I never heard TV or noise next door. My neighbor is also happy with this place. Apartments will always have some problems here and there, won't they? But the staff here are nice and helpful, what do you have to worry about? My suggestion: come to take a tour and you'll love it (We've visited several communities before making a decision and for us, here is the best. ). I will absolutely recommend this community. :)
I have lived at Schooner Bay twice now and the reason I came back is because I love it! Very nice and safe neighborhood. The apartments are freshly painted and have been remodeled. The views are fantastic with water, fountains and ducks! The trail is here in our back yard. The property is well maintained and always very clean. The office staff is amazing, and very helpful. I would recommend this community to anyone who wants all of these nice features =) Happy Camper!
Very bad apt. Things break down each day In the last 3 yrs I had put so many tickets to get things fixed. All the appliances are from the Jurassic era. Washing machine is too noisy and dish washer leaks every day. Servicing is very good. But there is a limit you can fix things when it is very old. I will not recommend this place to any one
We have lived here for a year while our house was being remodeled and have nothing but good things to say. The apartments are old and need updating but the community is the best. A dog friendly space with wonderful employees. Have never heard or seen any rodents in the apartment, have not heard anything in the walls, and love the location and neighbors. Why people say such bad things is beyond me. Don't believe the bad, negative comments.
While there are some PROS, the CONS outweigh them in our opinion. For the age and construction of the "homes" it is definitely not worth the rent. We’ve been here one and half years. Our first rent increase after 6 months was $171 a month, and now another $450 a month after 12 months. Month-to-month, it went up $900 a month for a 2/2 unit with garage. Way too much money for these living conditions!! PROS:
- Foster City is a great place to live
- Grounds have been newly landscaped
- Common amenities have been renovated
- Trails and shopping close-by
- Quick response and remedy by management for home repairs
- Good cupboard space
- Garage with upper storage cupboard
- In unit washer/dryer
- Homes are older construction
- Spiders and ants are abundant making a “haunted house feel” daily
- No air conditioning and it gets really hot here!
- Neighbors smoke wafts up to our unit
- Kids and dogs are close by and loud
- Poorly insulated – can hear neighbors, heat & cold a big issue
- Single pane, old and hard to close/open windows
- Uneven floors that bounce, shaking everything when walking - Bathroom enclosures are hideous and squeek incessantly - Low-grade kitchen with vinyl flooring and laminate counters
