My apartment has been described as "An old lady's apartment." That pretty much sums it up but with a high price tag for rent. The walls are very thin and you can hear noise from other levels of the apartment. Complaints and resolutions are hard to come by. I have had to send multiple emails to get a response from them each time I have had a noise compliant(twice) and there has not been a resolution. I do not get a service for my cell phone which is very annoying. I wish the noise was blocked out as well as the service is. Gates are usually not working on a regular basis and as I write this, the directory has been out of service for several weeks and no notification about it from the apartment management. Will it ever work again? Who knows? They have not been sending notifications out through email much lately as I never received a notice when I received a package. As others have said, it has a good location and that is it.
My husband and I have been living here for almost a year now, with our 2 big dogs. Even though our apartment is a little outdated, the gates don't always work properly and yes, we can hear our neighbors dog run around upstairs some (they're very nice people and our dogs would be doing the same thing). We really enjoy living here! It's very dog friendly and close to everything! We love walking/running/biking the bayou and being able to walk to restaurants and walgreens is a plus. Most of the people are nice and respectful. The staff has been great! I have met most of them and each one is pleasant and great to work with. We hope to be living here for awhile!
I've lived at AMLI Memorial Heights for a year now and have had THE BEST experience. The apartments are impeccable with the best amenities. The pricing is fair and payment is easy. I wanted an apartment with friendly and reliable staff, which is why I chose AMLI MH. Elly in the leasing office has been so helpful and sweet - I can go to her for anything! I moved to Houston from NYC without knowing anything about this city, the location at AMLI has made seeing every part of Houston super accessible. I'm sad to be moving soon, but know if I return to Houston where to live again!
Location is good, thats it. I have lived here for 6 months and I haven't gone one without calling the office to report an issue. Even though I signed my lease almost 60 days in advance, the day I was supposed to move in there was still a crew installing the floor. They obviously left the appartment increadybly messy, so the office sent the cleaning lady to sweep and dust the next day (she was there for 8 minutes). Walls, doors, counter tops, carpet, and bathrooms were dirty, not an 8 minute job. There are entry gates to this complex, you can safely assume that over 50% of the time one will be disbaled (open). Whats the point of a gate? I have called 2 times in the last month for AC maintencance and once for a washer repair. I actually spent over a week with no washer becasue one of teh girls at the office told me on a thursday that maitenance could come on saturday, they dont work on satuday. The next week they came and and couldn't fixt it, three days later they came with a new unit. To sum up; If you are looking for a place with high rent, messy apartments, out dated appliances, no AC in the summer, wide open gate, and descent location. You've found it!
I liked the location of the apartment complex on buffalo bayou and close to downtown but that's the only thing. The units are horribly outdated, no granite counter tops, old dingy carpet, the kitchen cabinets like to fall apart, old inefficient ac units and thermostats, and outdated bathroom sinks, faucets, and toilets. Not one renovation has been made to my unit since it was built. The one good thing about the complex is its proximity to the nearby parks, but the back gate is always broken and you can never use it. With the huge amount of money I pay a month on rent I could walk down the street and for the same amount I can get a completely new and beautiful apartment. Even with all this said, the management staff is the worst I have ever encountered. When I was trying to vacate my apartment they held me to policies that I didn't sign in my lease yet they told me they are in there "somewhere" yet failed to show them to me when I asked to read the actual lease. TLDR...Don't live here, crappy management, crappy quality, poorly maintained. Find something cheaper for the same value and save your money or find something for the same money that has more value.
